Werder Bremen – Eintracht Frankfurt
On Sunday, there will be three games in the Bundesliga for the last time before the international break. Matchday 11 will see a clash between two traditional clubs in the far north. While Eintracht were still active in the Conference League on Thursday, Werder were able to rest during the week. You can find out whether this will be an advantage for the northern Germans in our Bremen – Frankfurt betting tip.
There aren’t many venues in Germany further north than Bremen’s Weserstadion. On Thursday, however, the Eagles were traveling much further north. In the Conference League, SGE went to Helsinki, where they won 1-0. In the league, Frankfurt also picked up a win recently, 3-0 in Köpenick against the stumbling Union side.
SVW also gained good experience against Union in their last home game, as the North Germans won 2-0 against FCU two weeks ago. In the northern duel the previous week, however, there was no victory for Bremen. Nevertheless, coach Ole Werner will be satisfied with the 2-2 draw in Wolfsburg

Bremen Form & Balance Check
Despite an underwhelming second half of last season, in which Werder Bremen recorded just four wins, SVW managed to secure a 13th-place finish in the table. However, the start to the new season was again problematic for the North Germans.
Bremen won just two of their first eight games of the season. Both of these victories were achieved at home in the Weser Stadium and the opponents were the two basement dwellers Mainz and Cologne. Two weeks ago, they secured their third win of the season at home against Union Berlin. Most recently, SVW secured a 2-2 draw in Wolfsburg, which lifted Bremen up to twelfth place
Ducksch for Germany
Following Werder Bremen’s relegation to Bundesliga 2, the North Germans signed Marvin Ducksch from league rivals Hannover 96. With 20 goals and ten assists, the striker played a key role in Bremen’s promotion. And Bremen’s number 7 was also in impressive form in the pre-season with twelve goals and seven assists.
And even without his congenial strike partner Niclas Füllkrug, the 29-year-old continues to perform very well and has already scored four goals and provided four assists in each of his first ten games this season. Marvin Ducksch will now be able to combine with his former strike partner again next week, as the center forward has been called up by Julian Nagelsmann for the national team for the first time
Bremen facts & analysis
- Three home wins already this season
- In 12th place in the league
- Played 2:2 against Wolfsburg in the previous week
Frankfurt Form & Balance Check
After the arrival of new coach Dino Topmöller at the Eagles, the SGE team needed some time to adapt to the 42-year-old’s new style of play. The result was just seven points from the first six games, which resulted in ninth place. Since then, however, Eintracht have remained unbeaten in all competitions.
The SGE have picked up a strong ten points from their last four games and Frankfurt would have deserved a win in their only loss, the 3-3 draw against BVB. In the previous week, Union Berlin didn’t stand a chance against the Hessians either, going down 3-0 at home
Marmoush becomes center forward
In his time at VfL Wolfsburg, Omar Marmoush was mostly at home behind the front line and not known as a prolific goalscorer. In his best season to date in the German top flight, the Egyptian scored just five goals. Due to the late departure of Randal Kolo Muani, however, the attacker is now in demand in the front line of the Adler.
And in recent games, the 24-year-old has been getting better and better in this position. In addition to three goals in the Conference League, Marmoush has already scored six goals in the Bundesliga. Frankfurt’s number 7 has scored an outstanding five times in the last three league games
Frankfurt facts & analysis
- Second best defense in the league
- In 7th place in the Bundesliga
- Without defeat in seven competitive matches

Bremen will once again line up in a 3-1-4-2 for the clash with SGE. We assume that Amos Pieper and Niklas Stark will be back on the bench. Goalkeeper Jiri Pavlenka is also expected to be out injured against Eintracht and will again be replaced by Michael Zetterer.
We will also see a back three at SGE, after Eintracht played in a 4-2-3-1 on Thursday. In defense, Robin Koch will probably still be out, while Tuta is expected to be available again
