Wimbledon Today – Matches on July 2
Just like yesterday, there are several exciting second-round matchups to look forward to in London! When it comes to today’s Wimbledon tips, I’m presenting six tennis bets as usual—all of which can be enhanced with a sports betting bonus.
Of course, I’ve also looked at the schedule through the eyes of a German fan. I’m focusing on both the match between Royer and Zverev and the one between his compatriot Hanfmann and Khachanov.
I’ve selected today’s Wimbledon picks for you—ones I consider promising. I’ve taken a particularly close look at Alexander Zverev’s match.
You can find a detailed prediction for Zverev’s second-round match below, but to put it simply: after his three-tiebreak match against Blockx, he’s likely to lose another set in his match against the French player.

Wimbledon Picks for Today, July 2: De Minaur – Mannarino (12:00 p.m.)
After his opening-round victory over Burruchaga—a three-set match that started off a bit nervously but ended in dominance—De Minaur now faces a completely different caliber of opponent in Adrian Mannarino.
Mannarino loves fast grass, as his flat, almost spinless shots bounce extremely low there and allow for hardly any rhythm.
Although De Minaur leads the head-to-head series 5–1 and enters the match as the favorite, the Australian will have to dig deep to return the French veteran’s shots. This is going to be a long, grueling test of patience!
My expert tip: Could go to five sets!
Wimbledon betting today, July 2: Khachanov – Hanfmann (2:00 p.m.)
Yannick Hanfmann has made the impossible a reality! Defying the grim odds, he prevailed in four sets on Tuesday in a thrilling match against Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard.
In terms of playing ability, Karen Khachanov is, of course, in a completely different league than the French serve specialist.
However, since Hanfmann can now play completely uninhibited after his historic breakthrough and is holding his own serve excellently, he has a real underdog chance if he can neutralize Khachanov’s powerful groundstrokes early on.
My expert tip: Hanfmann can rise above himself
Tennis Betting Today, July 2: Duckworth – Cobolli (3:30 p.m.)
With a four-set victory over Tallon Griekspoor, James Duckworth celebrated his first Wimbledon match win in five years. Duckworth’s flat, no-frills game works exceptionally well on grass once he finds his rhythm.
Awaiting him in the second round today is Italian Flavio Cobolli, the No. 9 seed. The French Open finalist had to dig deep in his opening match against Mariano Navone but kept his composure in the decisive tiebreaks.
Although Cobolli is the favored top-10 player, he’s nowhere near as comfortable on grass as he is on clay. If Duckworth can keep his serve consistent, another upset is definitely in the cards here.
My expert tip: Duckworth has a real chance!
Tennis Betting Today, July 2: Royer – Zverev (3:30 p.m.)
The Frenchman fought his way brilliantly through qualifying and, in the first round of the main draw, came back from a set down against local wild-card entrant Harry Wendelken to secure a well-deserved four-set victory.
Even though Royer has little experience on grass so far and feels most at home on clay, he has already proven in Paris at the French Open against Djokovic that he can be extremely tenacious.
In their only head-to-head match so far, the Hamburg native did come out on top in straight sets, but due to his grass-court allergy and his intense first-round match against Blockx, the French Open champion could drop another set.
My expert tip: Zverev with brief lapses
Wimbledon today, July 2: Berrettini – Fils (4:00 p.m.)
What an absolute epic in the first round! In a historic 4-hour marathon on Tuesday evening, Matteo Berrettini defeated Stan Wawrinka in four sets—all decided in tiebreaks.
Awaiting him in the second round on Center Court is the No. 20-seeded Frenchman Arthur Fils. Fils is extremely athletic and brings exactly the pace needed to fully challenge Berrettini, who is still feeling the effects of the marathon match.
But if the Italian’s serve is as relentless as it was against Wawrinka (29 aces!), he’ll bring Fils to his knees as well.
My expert tip: His serve could carry Berrettini to victory
Wimbledon today, July 2: Mensik – Dimitrov (4:50 p.m.)
Czech teenager Jakub Mensik showed nerves of steel in the first round.
As the No. 15 seed—and a recent French Open semifinalist—he faced a bitter elimination against British wild-card local hero Toby Samuel but successfully fought his way back in an epic five-set thriller.
Given this grueling opening marathon, I’m not too worried about today’s match, as the Czech player still performed very well at the French Open despite similarly intense matches.
In the second round, he’ll face Australian Christopher O’Connell. O’Connell is a tough opponent on grass, capable of keeping the ball low with his one-handed backhand and good slice variations, but he shouldn’t pose a major challenge.
My expert tip: Mensik shows no signs of fatigue
