Final time at the 250 tournament in Atlanta. Taylor Fritz started as a big favourite and currently lives up to his role as top seed. In the final he has to play against Aleksandar Vukic!
This is the first time the two professionals meet. Will the Australian pull off the miracle? In my Fritz Vukic tip, I give you my assessment and reveal why I choose the odds at Bet3000.
After a four-month hard court break, Fritz has made a good start in Atlanta. He has come through his first three matches without losing a set and is now on the verge of winning his sixth ATP title.
However, things have not been going well for the US number one in recent months. While he had one of his best seasons on clay, it was supposed to work out for the flat-hitting artist on the fast grass.
But with only three wins from seven matches, his record after Wimbledon was negative. At the most prestigious tournament of the year, the man from San Diego already failed in the second round.
Fritz now found his old strength again in Atlanta. A tournament he has never been able to win before. Like Zverev today in Hamburg, he can also triumph for the first time in his sixth participation.
In 2019, he already reached the final, but lost in two sets to Alex De Minaur. In his last attempt in 2021, he was defeated by service ace John Isner in the semi-finals.
This year, Vukic (4.90) is another Australian waiting in the decisive round. Bet3000 is convinced that Fritz (1.17) will leave the tournament as the winner this time.
The set handicap bets are even more interesting. For the set handicap -1.5 for Fritz, the betting provider has a 1.60 on offer.
Fritz and Vukic have never met on court on the tour. Despite the big difference in the world ranking, the US American will not go into the final with a light mind.
After all, Vukic is playing his strongest year so far, has won 42 of his 64 matches and is ranked 82, his highest career world ranking to date.
Among them, however, were many successes at Challenger tournaments. In Atlanta, unlike the seeded Fritz, he already had to play the first round.
Vukic started with a 7-6, 6-3 win over Ethan Quinn and then had to play twice over three sets: Yoshihito Nishioka (4-6, 7-5, 7-6), Christopher Eubanks (6-4, 6-4) and Ugo Humbert (3-6, 7-6, 7-5).
This means he has defeated three higher ranked players in Atlanta. It was a quick sweep for Fritz against Yibing Wu (6-4, 7-6), returnee Kei Nishikori (6-4, 6-2) and Jeff Wolf (6-3, 7-5) to reach the final.
Fritz has only lost one service game so far. If he can play at this level again, I expect a clear 2-0 win for Fritz.
Unlike Vukic, he has only had to go to a tiebreak in one of his six sets so far. The Australian played one out in three of his four matches. That’s why Bet365 offers identical odds of 1.83 for over/under 0.5 tiebreaks.

Vukic is playing arguably his best year of tennis and now in a 250 tournament final for the first time. But it probably won’t be enough for the big triumph with Fritz as his opponent in the final.
The world number nine has shown a flawless performance so far and is well on his way to finally putting the weak grass court season behind him with a tournament win on hard court.
I expect Fritz not to let up a break, as he did in the quarter- and semi-finals, and not to have to go through a third set to win the final.
