Who, if not him, should be on top in London again in 2023? No question, there is really only one person who can make Wimbledon his tournament again – and that is the world number 2!
Exactly this player will meet a rival on Friday evening who is even a little older and knows how to triumph against the great Djoker. A whopping 74 years stand on the court!

In my Wawrinka Djokovic tip, I will now reveal why I still believe that this match will not go without a tiebreak!
I can actually abbreviate my analysis of Novak Djokovic as follows: Winner of Wimbledon seven times, including the last four tournaments, record holder in all statistics, absolute top favourite for the 2023 trophy!

The double faults also disappeared, Djokovic showed on Centre Court why he is the top favourite for the title. Since Stan Wawrinka is of a similar age, it is only logical that the two have met directly umpteen times.
26 duels are on the books in direct comparison! The first peculiarity: It will take until 2023 before the two meet on grass for the first time. The second: Djokovic is clearly in the lead with a score of 20:6, as one might expect.
The two veterans know each other very well, so it’s no surprise that the Serb is clearly ahead in terms of titles.
The odds come to an average of 1.02 to 14.0, it really couldn’t be clearer. Stan Wawrinka is currently 88th in the world rankings, so he can no longer keep up with the best overall.
In 2014 and 2015 he reached the quarter-finals here in London, so the round of the best eight is his top result so far. After his elimination in the 2nd round in Paris, the 38-year-old also decided against playing a preparatory tournament on grass.
In the 1st round in London, he faced Emil Ruusuvuori, an opponent on a par. Wawrinka made it clearer than expected, snatching a 7-5, 7-5, 6-4 and moving on.
He then had to play Tomas Martin Etcheverry. 6-3, 4-6, 6-4, 6-2, despite losing the set, the Swiss kept the upper hand. 93% won points on the first serve, this value can hardly be better!

Is the player with the more experience favoured here? When Stan Wawrinka meets Novak Djokovic, you can safely dispense with this phrase! Both veterans know exactly what they have to do to beat the other.
Of course, Djokovic’s current quality is a class above, but you should never underestimate a Wawrinka. We also noticed that the favourite had to go into a tiebreak twice.
That leads me to imagine at least a very close set between the two old stars. Since they’ve never dueled on grass before, a lot seems possible, which is why I’m guessing at the end.
