French Open Tips today – Matches today from 31.05.

Round 2 has begun! The French Open 2023 is moving forward in quick steps, especially the co-favourites for the title we are watching very closely these days of course.

In our French Open tips today we highlight the first performances of the world’s best and also give a preview of what Wednesday’s schedule has in store for us.

For example, how are Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic, the two hottest contenders for the title, doing? After very confident openers, they want to show their best side in the second match as well.

There have already been one or two surprises here in the French capital, so no star is immune from an out. What Grand Slam can do without a sensation?

French Open Tips Today – 05/31/2023 Preview Day 4

Novak Djokovic hasn’t had a problem in the 1st round yet, and the Serb won’t want to show any weaknesses on Wednesday either. With Marton Fucsovics, he will meet an opponent against whom he has won all four matches so far, which makes him all the more clearly favoured by the bookies.

Carlos Alcaraz is rated even higher in terms of overall victory. The world No. 1 is not going to have any problems with Taro Daniel, and our bookies are similarly optimistic about the situation.

What will Hubert Hurkacz do on clay? The strong-serving Pole clearly prefers the fast surface and now faces anything but an easy opponent in Tallon Griekspoor.

Stefanos Tsitsipas has been waiting for his first Grand Slam success for years, will it finally happen in 2023? He has already lost the first set, so the motivation to do it flawlessly against Roberto Carballes is all the greater.

Stan Wawrinka is really no one’s fool when it comes to experience. The Swiss is hoping for his second spring in Paris, but first he has to hold his own against Thanasi Kokkinakis. Interesting: Several bookmakers are offering identical odds!

Tennis tips today broadcast: Where will the matches be played on 31 May?

On Wednesday the team from Eurosport 1 and Eurosport 2 will be there again for all tennis fans. Not only will they report from Centre Court, but also from the smaller courts and all the background information.

French Open tips today 31.05.: Novak Djokovic – Marton Fucsovics (20:15 hrs)

Novak Djokovic has won the French Open twice, and now his eternal rival Rafael Nadal is finally not competing! However, the Djoker lacks top form, he has not reached a final since the Australian Open.

In Paris, however, he made a very confident start, more precisely a 6-3, 6-2, 7-6 win over Aleksandar Kovacevic. Now he will duel with Marton Fucsovics for the fifth time.

The four previous duels took place either on grass or hard court, three times the favourite failed to win outright. The odds for Wednesday, however, point to just that, coming in at an average of 1.02 to 13.0.

The Hungarian knows that he probably has no chance, in the first round he was victorious against Hugo Grenier 6-3, 5-7, 6-1, 6-3. However, the world number 83 has not yet been able to achieve really strong results this year.

Our Djokovic Fucsovic’s expert tip: Over 0.5 tiebreaks

French Open tips today 31.05: Carlos Alcaraz – Taro Daniel (14:45)

Is there anyone who can stop Carlos Alcaraz on his way to his first French Open title? The 20-year-old is the absolute top favourite, even though he pulled out very early in Rome a few days ago.

After three trophies at major Masters, it’s not at all to blame him that it gets too much for him now and then. In Paris, he bundled up his energy in the 1st round, winning 6-0, 6-2, 7-5 against Flavio Cobolli.

His opponent, Taro Daniel, started just as strong, winning 6-0, 6-2, 6-4. In any case, one thing Daniel and Alcaraz have in common is that they have become a little “weaker” from set to set.

The Japanese, who is a few years older than Alcaraz, had put the fear of God into some strong stars in March, but on clay he is not in form at all. So will he even go down in the end against the Spaniard? The odds of 1.01 to 16.0 certainly point to that!

Our Alcaraz Daniel expert tip: Over 25.5 Games

French Open tips today 31.05: Tallon Griekspoor – Hubert Hurkacz (14:00)

A real tour de force, and right from the start! Tallon Griekspoor obviously doesn’t think much of conserving energy in a 1st round of a Grand Slam as he secured a 6-4, 2-6, 0-6, 7-5, 6-3.

It is hard to explain how he could go down like that in two sets, but then recovered. Since the Masters in Indian Wells, he has only managed two wins, and he has also been plagued by many injuries in recent weeks.

It was a good thing that Hubert Hurkacz had to work just as hard when he won 6-3, 5-7, 6-4, 2-6, 6-4 against David Goffin. The 26-year-old surrendered 14 chances to break, so there’s a chance lurking here for Griekspoor.

Hurkacz doesn’t really like the red clay, only once winning two matches in a row on this surface in 2023. His best result came at the French Open in 2022, when he reached the last 16.

He now meets Tallon Griekspoor for the first time, and our bookmakers, with odds of 1.45 to 2.75, think there is more to suggest a Polish winner.

Our Griekspoor Hurkacz expert tip: 5 sets

French Open tips today 31.05.: Roberto Carballes – Stefanos Tsitsipas (11:00 a.m.)

For years Stefanos Tsitsipas has been waiting to finally win his first Grand Slam, something always gets in the way! The Greek takes a new attempt in Paris, wants to reach the final again after 2021.

Back then he was already leading 2:0 against Novak Djokovic before his nerves failed him. In the current first round, he won 7-5, 6-3, 4-6, 7-6 against Jiri Vesely, by all means closer than some had predicted.

Five years ago, Tsitsipas met Roberto Carballes for the first and only time and his 6-7, 6-2, 7-6 could not have been closer. He should be all the more pleased that our bookies see him ahead on Wednesday with 1.08 at 8.00.

His Spanish rival started the tournament with an unchallenged 7-6, 6-3, 6-2 win over Emilio Nava and is barely in the world’s top 50. He is ten centimetres shorter than Tsitsipas, drew attention three years ago in the French capital with a round 3 win over Denis Shapovalov.

Our Carballes Tsitsipas expert tip: 3:1 Tsitsipas

French Open tips today 31.05: Stan Wawrinka – Thanasi Kokkinakis (12:30 pm)

38 years old Stan Wawrinka is now, but apparently not a bit tired yet! The veteran celebrated a 7-6, 6-4, 6-7, 1-6, 6-4 win over Albert Ramos-Vinolas in the 1st round that took mighty energy.

His fans will remember: it was eight years ago that the Swiss even won the French Open in the prime of his career and appeared in the final another time in 2017!

No question, Wawrinka never gives up. For his first duel with Thanasi Kokkinakis, both players are listed with odds around a 1.85, which already shows that you can’t really settle on a favourite.

Kokkinakis, one could almost think, represents his strong compatriot Nick Kyrgios, who simply does not want to play on clay. The world number 108 promptly caused a big surprise in the first round.

He won 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 against the clearly stronger Daniel Evans! Actually, the Australian is not among the best on the red clay, but almost 80% of the points won on the first serve showed that things can go differently.

Our Wawrinka Kokkinakis expert tip: Victory Wawrinka
