Tennis Tips today – Matches today from 26.07.

The ATP tournament in Atlanta, will it be an all-American affair on the front courts as it often is? Some top players are staying in the USA, German participants have also confirmed their participation.

Our tennis tips today do not only focus on the jump across the pond, however, because there will also be matches in Kitzbühel. Tuesday’s schedule features the first appearance of Dominic Thiem.

Will he play his way into the semi-finals again and what will his competitors do? A few weeks before the US Open, the last Grand Slam of the year, things are anything but boring when it comes to tennis.

The men are fighting for important points in Atlanta and Kitzbühel, and there have been a few surprises lately. Surprises in which the players from Austria and Germany also want to take part this time.

Tennis Today Tips – 26.07.2022

American players are always strong in Atlanta, and Denis Kudla and Mackenzie McDonald should know that. The two compatriots want to avoid a first round exit at all costs, but only one can advance.

From the German point of view, one hopes of course for a good result in Atlanta, but can Peter Gojowczyk really get through the first round? With Nick Kyrgios, he will meet an enormously strong opponent who is likely to be a class ahead of him.

Another German has flown to the USA: Dominik Koepfer. He was a little luckier at the start of the tournament and plans to win against James Duckworth from Australia on Tuesday.

For Yannik Hanfmann it’s all about everything in Kitzbühel, since he has to compete against a starter from Austria, he might not have the audience on his side. Will it still be enough to win against Gerald Melzer?

The former world number 3 Dominic Thiem is getting better and better. After his semi-final in Gstaad, he is expected to go far in his home country. Therefore, Alexander Shevchenko must not become a stumbling block in the 1st round.

Tennis tips today broadcast: Where are the matches on 26.07.?

The Atlanta Open on TV? It would be nice, but here the fans unfortunately look into the tube. At Bet365, that’s the good news, you can follow everything for free via live stream. In Kitzbühel, on the other hand, a team from Servus TV will be on hand to make sure Dominic Thiem and Co. aren’t missed.

Tennis tips today 26.07.: Denis Kudla – Mackenzie McDonald (18:20 Uhr)

Denis Kudla or Mackenzie McDonald, who will win the American duel? McDonald goes into the encounter as the favourite, averaging 1.40 to 2.70. Having already finished in the 2nd round at Wimbledon, he will be looking to progress in Atlanta.

A year ago, at his premiere, he was eliminated in the first round, but that should not happen this time. He may have only met Denis Kudla once in the main draw, but there have already been five encounters in the qualifying rounds.

With 3:2 McDonald is in front, but all results were very close. So there seems to be something in it for Kudla, the world number 83. Win a set against Matteo Berrettini in Queens, then get knocked out in the 1st round at Wimbledon?

Consistency is not exactly what makes Kudla strong. It has been seven years since the American reached the semi-finals in Atlanta, and since then he has been hoping for a similarly strong tournament. By the way, it is interesting: With 1.78m and 1.80m, both opponents on Tuesday are rather small.

Our expert tip: Over 22.5 Games

Tennis tips today 26.07.: Peter Gojowczyk – Nick Kyrgios (02:20 Uhr)

Is Nick Kyrgios keeping up his strong form? The Australian has had a great spring, and to top it off, he hit the ground running on clay. The Wimbledon final, which he lost 3-1 to Novak Djokovic, was the well-deserved reward.

Kyrgios is finally concentrating on the sporting side of things, serves excellently and can come back strongly despite losing sets. He stood at the top in Atlanta six years ago, and this year he is also one of the top favourites.

1.15 to 5.40, no one at the betting companies believes he could fail in the 1st round against Peter Gojowczyk. The 33-year-old German is completely out of form, conceded a nasty 1-6, 1-6, 2-6 defeat to Oscar Otte in Wimbledon.

The fact that he survived the qualifying in Atlanta is therefore to be praised. Especially the smooth victory against Steve Johnson came as a surprise. But Gojowczyk has not beaten a player of Nick Kyrgios’ class for a long time.

Our Expert Tip: 2:0 Kyrgios

Tennis tips today 26.07.: Dominik Koepfer – James Duckworth (00:00)

A match on an identical level is what the bookmakers are expecting from Dominik Koepfer and James Duckworth. With 1.75 to 2.00, the Australian is just ahead. No wonder, after all he is number 62 in the world, while Koepfer is not in the top 140.

After his first-round exit from Wimbledon, he did make a semi-final and a quarter-final, but in both tournaments he was eliminated by a rival ranked lower than himself.

Dominik Koepfer must try to get out of his slump in Atlanta. In Indianapolis he was in the top eight, but was eliminated there without being able to beat an opponent on a par with him.

Nevertheless: In Atlanta, he survived the qualifying round. This is the first time he has been allowed to play in the main draw. Koepfer was injured for a long time, a win against Duckworth would boost his confidence considerably.

Our Expert Tip: Win Duckworth

Tennis tips today 26.07.: Gerald Melzer – Yannick Hanfmann (12:20 Uhr)

Germany vs Austria, who will win? Yannick Hanfmann hopes for a strong tournament in Kitzbühel. Is the form right? In and after Wimbledon it was not very good, only in Gstaad it slowly improved.

He beat Cristian Garin 2-0, but the 6-7, 6-7 loss to Nicolas Jarry was all the more annoying. The 30-year-old does not show consistent performances on the court, maybe it helps him that he leads 1:0 in the direct comparison against Gerald Melzer.

Already five years ago, the only duel took place, which went to the German with 2:1. Melzer has the home advantage in Kitzbühel. He defeated Hamad Mededovic and Ivan Gachov in the qualifying, albeit only in three sets.

Melzer almost only competes in smaller tournaments or Challengers. Earlier this month he reached a final once, but lost to Juan Pablo Ficovich. With odds of 1.50 to 2.50, the bookmakers narrowly favoured Hanfmann.

Our Expert Tip: Win Hanfmann

Tennis tips today 26.07.: Alexander Shevchenko – Dominic Thiem (19:30)

For Dominic Thiem there is only one direction at the moment: the one that leads upwards! The Austrian has cracked the top 200 after a long period of suffering, and last weekend he reached a semi-final for the first time in 14 months.

In Gstaad, he lost clearly to Matteo Berrettini, but nevertheless he left very satisfied. Since his first win a few weeks ago, he has been getting stronger and stronger, and promptly he is the clear favourite in the 1st round of Kitzbühel.

With odds of 1.15 to 5.40 he goes into the match against Alexander Shevchenko, a defeat would be a big step backwards. His Russian opponent is a few places ahead of him in the rankings, but has not delivered a convincing tournament for a long time.

Shevchenko very rarely competes on the big stage, which is why he is also the underdog on Tuesday. Another plus point for Thiem: he won the tournament in 2019, so he knows exactly how to perform here.

Our expert tip: 2:0 Thiem
