Betting odds, Tennis Tip & Prediction for Daniil Medvedev – Grigor Dimitrov

With the world No. 1 not competing, you arrived as the champion of the US Open – it’s no secret that Daniil Medvedev is at the top of the experts’ list of favourites for the Indian Wells Masters!

The Russian continues to work towards taking over the top position soon. However, a somewhat dubious rule seems to make that impossible, at least this year. But Medvedev still wants to win the BNP Paribas Open, of course.

Who takes how many old points into the season, who doesn’t play in which tournament – not even every player can keep track of how the ATP compiles its world rankings. Daniil Medvedev is behind Novak Djokovic, the gap has melted.

Should the US Open winner win in Indian Wells, the pressure on the Djoker will increase. However, he would already have to fail completely at the ATP Finals, while Medvedev needs the title here too.

Medvedev will probably only really attack Djokovic next year. Nonetheless, all the experts believe he will end up on top in Indian Wells.

he clearly leads the ranking of overall wins ahead of Alexander Zverev. Only his fourth time here, we have yet to see a better result than a 2nd round by 2021.

Now in the form of his life, the 25-year-old is looking to snatch his sixth title of the year. A player who only drops one set at the US Open and wins the final 3-0 against Novak Djokovic definitely has what it takes.

Medvedev got into the tournament with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Mackenzie McDonald, and soon after also won against Filip Krajinovic in two sets. At least the Serb was able to annoy him a bit, in the end it was 6-2, 7-6

Medvedev allowed three break chances in both matches, his serve is and remains his great strength. He had continued to attract attention at the Laver Cup with an emphatic 6-4, 6-0 win over Denis Shapovalov.

Nobody expects the world No. 2 to have serious problems in his round of 16 match against Grigor Dimitrov. In 2017, the Bulgarian still won the premiere duel, but then Medvedev pulled away.

Three wins without dropping a set, the most recent a few weeks ago in Cincinnati – no wonder the bookmakers have the Russian at odds just above 1.10!

In this respect, Grigor Dimitrov should know: Nobody is counting on him, he can only win. No player in the round of the best 16 is sent into the race with higher odds.

And this despite the fact that the 30-year-old, ranked No. 28 in the world, is truly no stranger. He has served seven times in Indian Wells and has now reached the last 16 for the first time. So he is not playing his favourite tournament at the moment.

After his walk-through in the first round, he was served a fairly easy opponent in Daniel Altmaier. Dimitrov took full advantage of his superiority and secured a 6-4, 6-2. He won a whopping 87% of his first serve.

Reilly Opelka was an extremely unpleasant opponent. But Dimitrov never really let the giant get into the match, fending off his serves, not giving him a break chance and shining again with his first serve.

The 6-3, 6-4 was very convincing. Apparently, his strong performances in San Diegowhere he narrowly lost to eventual tournament winner Casper Ruud in the semi-finals were anything but a fluke.

Daniil Medvedev has worked hard over the last few years that you now have to say: if he doesn’t play Novak Djokovic, he is automatically the favourite. Of course, that’s also the automatic conclusion of my Medvedev Dimitrov tip.

For the sixth time this year, the Russian can win a title, so far he has not dropped a set in Indian Wells. But beware: the same is true of Grigor Dimitrov. Even service specialist Reilly Opelka had no chance.

The Bulgarian serves strongly and hardly gives his opponents any break chances. Filip Krajinovic at least managed a tiebreak against Medvedev and showed that the world No. 2 can definitely show weaknesses
