He played arguably the best grass court season of his career, why shouldn’t he be able to show it on hard court? Finally Nick Kyrgios is focusing on the sporting side of things for once, and he’s already one of the tournament favourites in Atlanta.

Strong preparation tournaments and an even better Grand Slam, behind Nick Kyrgios lie special and above all successful weeks. At Wimbledon he sensationally reached the final and there too he attracted attention.
6-4, 3-6, 4-6, 6-7 against Novak Djokovic, even if he only came second in the end, he won critics and many a heart in the audience. This is by no means a matter of course, because the enfant terrible often gets into trouble.
When he concentrates on tennis, he plays like he was allowed to see in London. Tsitsipas, Garin, Krajinovic or Nakashima, no matter who stood in his way, the Australian cleared him out of the way.
After a little time off, which consisted of relaxing holidays and hard training, he is now attacking again. Atlanta is played on hard court, a surface that suits Kyrgios very well. It has been six years since he won this very tournament.
With 7-6, 7-6 he won a true marathon against record champion John Isner. By the way, a special feature should be mentioned here: once Kyrgios and once de Minaur, only these two winners break the American winning streak.
Seeded at No. 7, the 27-year-old is expected to do well. In this respect, it is no surprise that there is no more than a 1.15 to pick up. So if you want to bet on a win for Kyrgios, you need a sports betting bonus to make this bet halfway profitable.
His opponent Peter Gojowczyk, whom he will meet for the first time on Tuesday, averages 5.40, so he is the clear underdog. Not surprising, because the German is only now getting back on his feet a little.
The man from Munich has had a hard few months, he didn’t win in the main draw for ages and was humiliated by Oscar Otte in the first round of Wimbledon 1-6, 1-6, 2-6. Immediately after this humiliation, Gojowczyk departed for the USA.

A 4-6, 2-6 against Wu Yibing, and that as a top-seeded player, how will he survive against Nick Kyrgios? After all, Gojowczyk has already prevailed once in qualifying, against Ernesto Escobero and Steve Johnson.
Last year, the 33-year-old at least made it past the first round. His two matches against Sam Querrey and Jordan Thompson offered a proud 59 games, whether he can annoy Kyrgios for as long.

Nick Kyrgios has a very simple goal on his USA trip: just keep going like he did at Wimbledon.
In his 1st round match in Atlanta, the only way Peter Gojowczyk seems to be able to stop him is if something unpredictable happens. In my analysis, I could hardly find anything in the German’s favour.
Gojowczyk has big problems with his serve, while Kyrgios usually smashes the balls mercilessly over the net. In this sense, I can only send the following tip into the race:
