Wimbledon 2022, Final, Sunday, 10.07.2022

One last serve in London, then the Wimbledon Games will be over. The men’s grand final turns into the ultimate showdown. They face each other: Top favourite Novak Djokovic and surprise Nick Kyrgios

The Djoker is of course the hot contender for victory, but everyone knows: his opponent can really beat anyone on a good day. A spectacle is possible for hours with this duo!

One wants the 21st GS title, the other the very first. Especially the one who is still titleless is the fear opponent of the other. In my Djokovic Kyrgios tip, I reveal why I can’t just imagine a three-setter here!

Novak Djokovic in the final of Wimbledon, who would have thought THAT? Admittedly, everyone. The Serb was seen as the eventual winner from the start, now just one match short of his first Grand Slam success this year.

Criticising Novak Djokovic, that usually only works at a high level. He has dropped a set four times, which is quite exceptional for him. Once, in the quarter-finals against Jannik Sinner, he even had to go the full distance.

Djokovic is Djokovic, even when trailing 0:2 he is always able to increase his pace and defeat his opponent by surprise. In the semi-final against Cameron Norrie, the Serb did not get off to the best start either.

Losing the first set 2-6 to Cameron Norrie, this time Djokovic looked to hit straight back. 6-3, 6-2, 6-4, he quickly put his rival in his place. He has already won six titles in Wimbledon, now he wants to win number seven.

Can the world No. 3 ever lose a final in the English capital? Theoretically, yes, but it has happened to him once. In 2013, he had to concede outright against Andy Murray, and no one can imagine that happening again on Sunday.

No need to mention it: Of course Djokovic is the top favourite in the final. 1.15 at 4.20, a pure win bet is not profitable at all with the German betting providers. However, there is one fact here that might not please the Serbian fans.

It has been five years since Djokovic and Kyrgios met twice. 7-6, 7-5 and 6-4, 7-6 – both duels went narrowly to the actual underdog! That record will definitely be on Kyrgios’ mind on Sunday.

The Wimbledon final is the biggest match of the 27-year-old’s career, never before has he made it to a final at a Grand Slam. Kyrgios is a tennis mystery, some love him, others hate him.

In London, he finally manages to concentrate mainly on the sporting side of things. However, it is never out of the question that he will have to go to five sets against a qualifier, as he did in Round 1 against Paul Jubb.

Kyrgios can also be quite different. He beat Stefanos Tsitsipas in 3-1 sets at Wimbledon, Filip Krajinovic and Cristian Garin straight in three. Tennis fans then feverishly awaited the big semi-final against Rafael Nadal.

Kyrgios was favoured by all bookmakers, in terms of match rhythm he must not have been happy that Nadal had to withdraw at short notice. At least the Australian has saved his energy, which he will certainly need against Djokovic.

Kyrgios’ service is excellent, and he can also catch Djokovic here. He usually wins tiebreaks and collects aces one after the other. For this reason too, the bet “Over 0.5 tiebreaks” will only come to a 1.35!

For Sunday I expect a match that could not be more exciting. Djokovic certainly showed lack of concentration in the tournament, which his opponents took advantage of. Kyrgios serves brilliantly, showed perfect matches in London.

So the undoubtedly best players in Wimbledon will meet. If the match is as close as the two previous duels, we will experience hours of top-class tennis. In this respect, I only have the following tip:

There will be at least four sets!
