Today’s game between the Golden State Warriors and Milwaukee Bucks offers basketball fans more than just a slight playoff preview. After all, two of the best teams in the league meet!
However, I’m pretty confident in my Warriors Bucks prediction as far as the outcome of the game is concerned. After all, a Giannis Antetokounmpo at his best can’t be stopped by anyone, not even the plucky Warriors of the East Coast!
The Warriors, along with the Suns, are among the two NBA teams that have dominated the Western Conference from the start. But unlike the Arizonans, the Californians seem to be getting into more and more trouble.
A look at the standings, meanwhile, still suggests an ideal world, because with a record of (45-22) they are still among the best the Western USA has to offer in terms of basketball – but the Yellow and Blue have now lost 70% of their last ten games!
This significant downturn can be attributed to a variety of circumstances. But especially the recent injuries to Otto Porter and Gary Payton have caught Golden State cold! And right now the important game against the defending champions is on the schedule!
The Bucks are also dealing with personnel shortages at the moment, as Pat Connaughton, George Hill, Brook Lopez, and Lindell Wigginton will definitely miss the game against the Warriors.
However, the big names from both teams will be in the game! On the Warriors’ side, that’s Curry and his sidekick Thompson, of course, while on the opposite side it’s Antetokounmpo, Middleton, and Holiday.
In this constellation, the Bucks should have the advantage. The reasoning follows from a brief analysis of the last duel, which was held in Milwaukee in mid-January and went quite clearly to the home side with 118:99.
On this occasion, it was Giannis Antetokounmpo who made his mark on the game! In fact, against the Warriors that night, the two-time MVP scored a triple-double and dominated his counterpart Kevon Looney through the roof!
Now Looney is by no means a bad guy, but when the Greek is in good form, no center in the world can match him – and indeed it looks like it could be another long night for the Californians.
Because The Greek Freak has scored 82 points within 24 hours! He saved 39 points for the Thunder, while the other 43 blew up in the Hawks’ faces the following night! No wonder the Bucks are currently racking up win after win in performances like this.
The Bucks have now won six straight NBA games, sweeping the excellent Phoenix Suns (132-122) and Chicago Bulls (118-112) just less than a week ago.
The Green and Whites also lead the league in the defensive rebounds category, which is important for this game, according to the NBA’s official stats site! With an average of 36.5 secured balls in their own perimeter per game, Milwaukee clearly enjoys air supremacy!
Incidentally, this is also where I derive part of my Warriors Bucks prediction. Because due to the extended possession time of the guests, it will be difficult for the Californians to get the ball in the decisive moments!
Meanwhile, expect a game on a knife edge, which only after a closer look at the Warriors Bucks odds reveals a slight favorite.
That’s because a Bucks triumph is offered win odds averaging around 1.80, while a home side success ranks at a slightly higher payout level of around 2.00.
Summary: The Warriors are clearly on the decline with seven losses from their last ten games. Meanwhile, on the opposite lane, the Bucks are beckoning them on their way to their seventh straight NBA win.
Giannis Antetokounmpo’s performance in the last meeting almost two months ago proved to be decisive for the game! If the two-time MVP has another good day, it will be difficult for the Californians, who are shorthanded.
And indeed, everything looks like the two-time MVP will dominate his counterpart Kevon Looney once again. After all, the Greek scored an impressive 82 points during his last two appearances.
