In Germany, the Formula 1 Belgian GP is shown live on TV and exclusively on Sky.

On Sky Sport F1, the Spa GP broadcast will run live on all three days – with the three free practice sessions, qualifying and, of course, the race on Sunday.

In addition, Sky’s broadcast from Belgium also includes extensive preliminary reports, analyses and interviews as well as all the press conferences.

There will be no broadcast of the Belgian Grand Prix on RTL, however. RTL is only allowed to broadcast four races live during the season, and the Spa Grand Prix is not one of them.

Who is Sky F1 commentator in Spa?

Sky is relying on its tried and tested team for the Formula 1 broadcast from Spa.

Sascha Roos is on duty as commentator for the Spa GP live broadcast. The experts are the two ex-Formula 1 drivers Raf Schumaher and Timo Glock.

They will be joined by presenter Peter Hardenacke and reporter Sandra Baumgartner, who will be reporting from the mixed zone and conducting interviews throughout the race weekend in Spa.

The F1 Spa GP circuit

The Belgian Formula 1 GP is run at the Circuit Spa-Francorchamps, located in the Ardennes in the triangle between the towns of Stavelot (of which the circuit is part), Spa and Malmedy.

This circuit has been on the Formula 1 calendar since 1950.

No wonder, after all, the race track in the Belgian Ardennes has everything to offer. A difference in altitude of about 100 metres and, with the Eau Rouge, one of the most spectacular curves ever.

In total, the “Ardennes roller coaster” has a length of about 7 kilometres and 21 curves. There are 44 laps to complete at the Spa Grand Prix.

The record winner at Spa is Michael Schumacher with six victories. He even drove his first ever Grand Prix there in 1991 and celebrated his first victory at the “Ardennes Classic” in 1992.

There have been three different winners in the last three years. In 2019, Charles Leclerc won in a Ferrari, in 2020, Mercedes star Lewis Hamilton, who has won here four times in total, and last year’s winner was Max Verstappen.

Who is favourite for the Formula 1 Spa GP 2022?

Who will win the 2022 Belgian Grand Prix at Spa?

Given the past few races, Max Verstappen is the big favourite to win for many.

Verstappen has won eight of the 13 races so far this season – most recently the Hungarian Grand Prix before the summer break and before that the French GP at Le Castellet.

Sportsbook oddsmakers see Ferrari star Charles Leclerc as Verstappen’s biggest rival ahead of the first practice session in their Spa Formula 1 betting odds.

Will Ferrari come back stronger from the summer break? However, this question also applies to Mercedes.

In the last two races before the summer break – in France and Hungary – Mercedes drivers Lewis Hamilton and George Russell both finished on the podium. In second and third place.

For some experts, Mercedes seems ready for its first victory of the season.
