The track of the new Miami Formula 1 GP

The Miami Formula 1 GP is a planned street circuit in Miami Gardens, Florida.

The circuit runs around the famous Hard Rock Stadium, the home venue of the Miami Dolphins NFL team.

It is a temporary race track that will not use public roads. The new Miami GP track is 5.41 kilometres long and features 19 turns.

The top speed is said to be 320 km/h, and drivers are expected to reach an average speed of 222 km/h.

What makes the new Miami GP track so special?

The new Formula 1 GP track in Miami is mostly flat, but there are some small bumps that the designers have incorporated into the track.

The biggest elevation change is found between turns 13 and 16, where the track goes over an exit ramp and under various overpasses over uneven terrain.

The chicane at turns 14 and 15, for example, goes uphill, with a crest in the middle of the chicane and then drops again at the exit.

The Miami Gardens area not only hosts the new Miami Grand Prix, but many other events.

The Hard Rock Stadium is the venue for the American football team of the Miami Dolphins. In the NFL season, the Dolphins’ home games take place here. In 2020, Hard Rock Stadium was even the venue for the Super Bowl.

Tennis has also been played in Miami Gardens since 2019. The Miami Open has been held in and around the Hard Rock Stadium since 2019. In addition, the arena has already been the venue for Wrestlemania and several boxing matches.

Who is favourite for the first Miami Grand Prix 2022?

Who will win the Miami Grand Prix 2022?

If the result of the recent Formula 1 Grand Prix at Imola is anything to go by, Max Verstappen will be considered the heavy favourite for the Miami GP.

In Imola, Max Verstappen was the big winner: the Dutchman won the sprint on Saturday, the race on Sunday and also set the fastest race lap.

For Charles Leclerc, until then the big dominator of the season, things didn’t go so well at Ferrari’s home race. Only 6th place in the race.

However, the Monegasque has won two of the four races so far this season. The other two went to Verstappen. In addition, Leclerc has set the fastest lap in each of the first three races this season.

Who could be a threat to the top duo at the inaugural Formula 1 Miami GP?

If the bookmakers’ betting odds and the season’s results so far are anything to go by, Verstappen’s teammate Sergio Perez could play a role. The Mexican finished second in Imola. Perez has already finished second twice this season.

Or will it be the turn of Leclerc’s team-mate Carlos Sainz, who is listed behind Verstappen, Leclerc and and Perez in the Miami Grand Prix predictions and betting odds.

The rest are given very slim chances of winning the inaugural Miami Formula 1 GP. This includes Lando Norris and George Russell, who finished 3rd and 4th respectively at Imola.
