VfB Stuttgart – Eintracht Frankfurt

The 29th matchday of the Bundesliga is coming up and we can look forward to exciting soccer again this weekend. In the top match on Saturday evening, VfB Stuttgart welcome Eintracht Frankfurt and this pairing promises to be a high-class game. The surprise team from Stuttgart will try to consolidate their position in the Champions League places and Frankfurt need a win to stay in the Europa League places. Find out who has the better cards in this game and what we can look forward to in our Stuttgart – Frankfurt betting tip.

The Swabians landed their next coup last weekend. They played a very good game away from home against their direct rivals from Dortmund and managed to score the decisive goal in a lively game with plenty of chances to make the final score 1:0. Once again, it was top scorer Guirassy who helped Stuttgart to their 19th win of the season.

Frankfurt were unable to use the final matchday to pull away from the chasing pack. In their home match against Werder Bremen, they were the more active and generally better team in the first half, but failed to convert their chances into goals. After the break, the 0:1 goal came completely out of nowhere, but Eintracht managed to recover and scored a deserved equalizer in the 77th minute. This draw did not help them and they now face a very tough opponent against Stuttgart away from home

Stuttgart Form & Balance Check

Stuttgart are still playing an outstanding season. Even the most optimistic fans could hardly have dreamed of such a run after last season. They have won 19 of their 28 league games so far, the same number as Bayern, drawn three and have only been beaten six times. They are therefore deservedly in third place, level on points with the record champions, and could even leap into second place this weekend.

They are seven points clear of a place that would not be enough for the Champions League and the Swabians can start to imagine playing in the top flight. They have won four and drawn one of their last five games and have now gone ten games unbeaten. The form curve continues to point strongly upwards and there seems to be no limit for this team

Home strength

For Stuttgart, the home MHPArena is probably their favorite. They have won ten of their 14 home games there, drawn three and have only been beaten once at home this season. The home fans and the atmosphere seem to motivate the Swabians even more and these few percentages make the difference in their performance. They are unbeaten in nine home games and have won eight of them and drawn just one

Stuttgart facts & analysis
  • Third strongest team at home
  • Unbeaten for ten games
  • Third place in the table

Frankfurt Form & Balance Sheet Check

Frankfurt are playing a very solid season so far. They have consolidated sixth place in recent weeks and have managed to keep the chasing pack at bay. They have picked up two draws and two wins from their last five games and suffered their only defeat away to Dortmund. Eintracht are getting closer and closer to qualifying for the Europa League again, but they will have to prove themselves against teams like VfB Stuttgart

Good support

In Kevin Trapp, Frankfurt have a real mainstay between the posts. In his 26 appearances, he has kept seven clean sheets, which is the fourth best in the league and better than national goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, among others. Frankfurt’s defense has been quite stable overall this season and has the fifth best defense in the league with 36 goals conceded in the 28 games of the season

Frankfurt facts & analysis
  • Last game draw
  • Sixth place in the table
  • Only three wins from the last ten games

Sebastian Hoeneß will line up again in the usual 4-2-3-1 with the return of the players. Anton returns to central defense after serving his yellow card suspension and Stiller moves back into midfield. Stenzel will replace Vagnoman (foot injury) in the right-back position. In attack, the coach will have to choose between Millot and Leweling, both of whom played a strong game in Dortmund. Keeper Nübel (muscular problems) will probably be fine.

Dino Topmöller will stick with his 4-4-2 formation, but there will be a few changes in terms of personnel. Nkounkou will replace Ebimbe (yellow card suspension) on the right flank, while Larsson will replace Tuta (red card suspension) in midfield. It remains to be seen whether Skhiri (calf problem) will be fit in time and Ekitiké (adductor problem) is also still a question mark
