Pep Guardiola’s team went head-to-head against championship rivals Liverpool on the final matchday. In a match of incredible quality, the Cityzens were able to open the scoring and took a 1-0 lead, but conceded the final goal shortly after half-time to make it 1-1. In the end, the Sky Blues should be happy with the draw, as Liverpool missed many of their big chances.
Newcastle United traveled to Chelsea FC in London on the previous matchday, where they initially put up a good fight but were pushed back more and more as the game progressed. Their goal at the end of the clash created excitement in stoppage time, but the longed-for equalizer never came.
