In Serie A, the catch-up match between Lazio Roma and Torino FC has a bitter aftertaste for all fans of the Biancocelesti. For a long time, they had hoped to jump on the Champions League bandwagon with this match. But as it turned out in the meantime, in vain.

For the visitors, however, this match is the last chance to avoid a real relegation play-off;

Lazio Roma just blew it in the last few metres. The dreams of a return to the top flight have now finally come to an end, despite a sustained winning streak of 13 home games in a row.

But even if this home record reads quite impressive on paper, there is not much to be seen of the playful ease with which they deservedly beat AC Milan 2-0 just a few weeks ago.

The Eagles’ game currently seems cramped and lacking in ideas – especially when it comes to teams from the lower regions of the table who are locked in at the back. After a 2-0 defeat against Florence, they only narrowly escaped embarrassment against Parma.

In the battle for the top flight, few would have expected that the already relegated Gialloblu could have pushed the Laziali to the brink of a draw in an eye-to-eye duel on Wednesday.

It was only a series of lucky rebounds in the 95th minute of the game, when the ball finally landed at the feet of Ciro Immobilien, that brought about the decision – final score: 1:0. But then at the weekend the next disappointment: 0:2 in the derby against AS Roma.

But despite all these setbacks, the Biancocelesti will have a clear advantage in terms of play on Tuesday. Also because the capitalshave already celebrated three wins in a row over Torino, who in turn always struggle when visiting the Olimpico.

In fact, the Granata have won only one of their last sixteen away games as guests of Lazio – hardly any other Serie A team the northern Italians fail more often away from home.

But the Biancocelesti’s strikers are also always happy about visits from the Toro. After all, they also have a streak going here. After all, the capitals have always scored at least once in each of their last fourteen duels against Torino so far.
