Crystal Palace vs. Norwich City
In the highest English division, the Premier League, there is a lot going on these days, like every year around the holidays. Within 8 days, 3 match days will be completed and after Boxing Day offered spectacular games, the teams will start their next compulsory game tomorrow. At 16:00 hrs Crystal Palace will host the promoted Norwich, who, as it looks, will have to go straight back down. The Canaries are currently in last place and have only collected 10 points. Despite the dismissal of German Daniel Farke, Norwich’s sporting situation has not improved.
Crystal Palace also started the season with a new coach, Patrick Vieira. Under the former world-class player, things have been solid so far and the team is currently in a secure midfield position. Find out who we think has the edge on Tuesday in this Crystal Palace – Norwich tip.

Crystal Palace Form & Balance Check
Before the season, the Eagles’ managers spent a lot of money and signed a few players. This has increased the club’s stability and opportunities in the table. So far, however, things have been rather mixed and it seems as if the team has not yet fully found itself. The performances fluctuate again and again and there are usually only a few weeks between victories at Man City and defeats against Aston Villa or Leeds.
Are we still in danger of staying in the league?
At the moment Palace are 12th in the table and 9 points clear of the first relegation place. But the lead is not quite as comfortable as it seems, as Burnley have 3 games less than the Eagles. So in the worst case Burnley could draw level with Palace and the situation would no longer be quite so relaxed. Nevertheless, we are relatively sure that the Londoners will stay in the class, as Patrick Vieira’s team has enough potential to do so and there are also some experienced players in the squad who are used to such situations.
Crystal Palace facts & analysis
– The last game was lost 3-0 against Tottenham.
– Palace have only lost one game at home so far
– On average they concede one goal per home game
Norwich form & balance check
Of course, everyone imagined something different about Norwich’s renewed promotion to the Premier League. What happened in the last Premier League season, 2020, was definitely not to be repeated. But it has actually come even more disastrously and the Canaries have lagged behind from the start, winning only twice. Most recently there have been 4 defeats in a row again and the coaching effect has completely fizzled out. After a good start under Dean Smith and 3 games without defeat, things have gone significantly downhill again and staying in the league this season would be a real miracle.
Offensively the team is just too harmless
Norwich have not only lost their last 4 games, they have not scored a goal in any of them. In general, the team has only managed to put the ball in the opponent’s goal eight times in 18 games, which is a disastrous figure. In 12 of 18 games this season, the Canaries remain without a goal. The only player who is at least a little bit of a goal threat is Teemu Pukki. Otherwise, the team is completely lacking in goal-scoring offensive players. So it’s quite possible that the club will be active on the transfer market in the winter.
Norwich facts & analysis
– Norwich have scored the fewest goals in the league.
– They have conceded the second most goals
– They lost 5-0 at home to Arsenal on Sunday
Predicted lineup – last update on 28 December 2021
Crystal Palace have to replace their best attacking player, with Zaha missing after his yellow card suspension at the weekend. The first alternative is Jeffrey Schlupp. Otherwise, we do not expect any personnel changes for the home side. The Canaries will probably make one or two performance-related changes. Lees-Melou is an option in midfield and young Tzolis for the wing.
