He even collapsed in the middle of a match in Miami when he was in his early 20s. But when the Brit is 100 percent fit, he wins titles and breezes through tournaments like it’s nothing.
The only problem is: After all the drama with the many recent withdrawals and the collapse in Montreal—where his body once again let him down—he doesn’t seem to be in top form right now.
That’s exactly where Landaluce’s chance lies: If he can drag Draper into long, grueling rallies, he can wear him down through sheer tenacity and somehow limp his way to victory.
My pick: Landaluce is the more consistent player!
Cincinnati Picks Today: Norrie – Prizmic (6:30 p.m.)
Prizmic definitely has what it takes to beat Norrie—and, in fact, even players of a completely different caliber in the top ranks. In terms of potential, his career could end up looking even more impressive than Norrie’s.
But—and this is a big “but”—since he had to throw in the towel early in Umag, he hasn’t played a single match. So who knows if his body is ready to go again?
When you also consider that he simply lacks match practice on this surface and it’s unclear how he plans to cope with the lousy weather over there, Norrie goes into this match as the much safer bet.
My pick: Norrie with more match practice!
Cincinnati Picks Today: Burruchaga – Struff (8:00 p.m.)
With the odds being nearly identical, Struff is definitely worth considering against Roman Andres Burruchaga on hard court. Struff simply has far more kilometers under his belt on this surface, plenty of experience, and, on top of that, has already achieved significantly more there.
Burruchaga, on the other hand, is still an absolute rookie at this level: Last week’s Masters in Montreal was actually his very first main draw on the ATP Tour on hard courts.
So if Struff can bring even a fraction of his usual game to the court, his hard-court prowess should be more than enough to defeat the South American.
My pick: Struff has already surprised us several times in 2026!
Cincinnati Picks Today: Shapovalov – Mannarino (8:00 p.m.)
A match between these two almost always feels like a 50-50 affair. Both have immense talent, but they’re just as unpredictable and their performances fluctuate constantly. Predicting a clear winner beforehand is therefore a really tough task!
Mannarino, however, seems to feel right at home in Cincinnati. He’s consistently delivered his strongest Masters performances there and has already reached at least the round of 16 three times.
When you look at this track record and consider that the bookmakers have given him odds of 2.40 to win, then betting on Mannarino against the inconsistent Shapovalov could be a really smart move.
My pick: The Frenchman will pull through!
Cincinnati Picks Today, August 13: Tirante – Choinski (8:00 p.m.)
The biggest difference between the two right now is clearly their experience on the pro tour. That said, Choinski has already proven he can beat Tirante: he’s won two out of three matches on clay.
Since Tirante also recently sustained a minor injury in Bastad and then had to play through the grueling tournament in Montreal, he’s unlikely to be at full strength physically.
Choinski could now ruthlessly exploit this very weakness—especially since he’s going into this match with odds that are far too high in his favor!
My pick: Tirante not physically at 100%
Cincinnati Picks Aug. 13: Carabelli – Kecmanovic (8:00 p.m.)
Kecmanovic is a real wild card, and Carabelli’s performance on the court is just as erratic. Both are simply unpredictable week after week!
But if you look at their recent results, this one smells suspiciously like the next long, grueling tennis battle. That’s why betting on a match going to more than two sets makes a lot of sense.
As for a classic 12-win bet: Carabelli has proven over the last two years on American hard courts that he’s always good for a surprise.
That makes him extremely dangerous—especially against a Kecmanovic who has zero consistency and seems to be coming up short against just about everyone these days.
My pick: The Argentine in three hard-fought sets!
Toronto picks tonight: Swiatek – Rybakina (12:00 a.m.)
In the Toronto final, Iga Swiatek faces Elena Rybakina. With odds of 1.65 to 2.15, the Polish player is considered the favorite after both secured hard-fought three-set victories in the semifinals.
Swiatek showed mental toughness in her 6-3, 1-6, 6-3 win over Svitolina. Rybakina expended a tremendous amount of energy against Gauff and Osaka and has already had to go the full distance four times in Toronto.
Swiatek’s advantage in freshness and her stronger return game should make the difference here.
My pick: Swiatek wins!
Montreal picks tonight: Shelton vs. Nakashima (2:00 a.m.)
In the Montreal final, Ben Shelton has a very good chance of defending his Canada Masters title. The American hasn’t dropped a single set in this tournament yet and, most notably, has conceded only seven games in his last two matches against Jakub Mensik and Learner Tien.
With a win over Brandon Nakashima, the current world No. 10 could win a tournament for the second time—or defend a title—for the first time in his career. The Canada Masters are held alternately in Toronto and Montreal.
Nakashima is the challenger and is currently in excellent form. His two most recent semifinal appearances in London and Washington speak for themselves. However, the world No. 32 has never beaten Shelton in their five previous meetings.
