The big names are no longer there, but a 1-1 draw in World Cup qualifying against world number one Belgium has recently caused a stir.
Meanwhile, the road to the 2021 European Championship went without major incident. In the end, it should be 2nd place behind the English, who will also be met in the group stage this time.
However, England’s role as favourites in this group is certainly not unchallenged, especially as the Three Lions lost 2-1 to the Czechs in the group stage in beautiful Prague.
Direct comparison Scotland – Czech Republic
There are few European Championship matches in which we have such fresh results from direct duels as in the Scotland vs Czech Republic match.
The reason for this is that both teams were in the same Nations League Group B just six months ago, but the Eastern Europeans have since been promoted from that group.
While the Bravehearts were unable to avoid the Czechs’ promotion, they were the Eastern Europeans’ absolute fearsome opponents, losing to them in both group games.
