NBA Regular Season 2023/24, Tuesday, 13.02.2024
Personally, I prefer a different mobile app, but the Interwetten app also allows you to place really good bets – especially on our regular NBA tips.
And of course, to add to the entertainment value of this Monday’s top game, I’ve written a Bucks Nuggets tip that I’m looking forward to with some optimism. After all, I’ve done a lot of research into the possible outcome of the game
There are already around 50 regular-season games in the NBA and both the Nuggets and the Bucks are pretty high up in their respective conferences, but not at the top.
However, with a record of 36-17, Denver is only separated from the top of the Western Conference by a “double-W”, whereas Milwaukee is already six wins behind the leaders, the Celtics.
The direct duel is of course also about prestige. The defending champions would like to repeat their victory over the Green and White at home in the Ball Arena about two weeks ago and thus make a statement
The weekend was not a particularly successful one for Denver. After three wins in a row, they suffered a surprisingly clear slap in the face against the Sacramento Kings!
The champions were truly dismantled by the Kings. The Nuggets’ outstanding superstar, Nikola Jokic, at least produced an acceptable performance with 23 points, 8 rebounds and seven assists.
However, Sacramento had a total of seven players score in double figures. Malik Monk, who came off the bench as shooting guard, stood out as the top scorer, scoring 23 points and also adding a rebound and two assists.
The powerful power forward Domantas Sabonis impressed with a triple double, recording 17 points, 17 rebounds and 10 assists.
In short: Denver was served!
However, I wouldn’t pay much attention to this said defeat of the Nuggets with regard to the top match, since in the course of a long season not every regular-season game can be given the same attention.
Perhaps Jokic and his boys were already mentally preparing for the clash with Milwaukee.
Incidentally, the Bucks’ form trend is exactly the opposite of that of the defending champions. After three defeats in a row, the Green & Whites celebrated a spectacular 120:84 victory over the Hornets at the weekend.
Of course, the Hornets are not an opponent that can be regarded as a legitimate touchstone ahead of a clash with the Nuggets. Especially not because the incomparably stronger Nuggets won the last duel against Milwaukee on January 30 with 113:107.
However, I expect another strong performance from Giannis Antetokounmpo tonight, as he already scored 29 points himself in the aforementioned duel.
Admittedly, his 15-point haul against the Hornets the night before wasn’t exactly a hot ticket for a Bucks Nuggets tip of this kind.
However, the Greek was only on the court for 23:39 minutes, so it was clear that the multiple MVP was deliberately spared for the top game against Denver.
Bet365 is starting with some player bets for today, which I have looked at in detail for you.
I would take the “Over 30.5 points” at odds of 1.80 for a strong evening from Antetokounmpo, but not the 1.80 for more than 27.5 points from Nikola Jokic.
The Serbian will in all likelihood be double-covered again and therefore rarely get a chance to score. Instead, he will once again provide plenty of assists.
Watch out: The Nuggets’ superstar scored 25 points in the last head-to-head clash, but also provided a valuable 12 assists – 7 more than any other player from either team on the floor.
The roles were different at the end of January. Back then, according to the Bucks Nuggets odds of the sports betting providers, the defending champions were the favorites at an average of 1.60 to 2.45.
This time, however, the Green & Whites are starting from pole position, albeit only slightly – with odds of 1.85 to 1.90.
Probably also because they have won 12 of their last 16 NBA games in the Fiserv Forum!
Conclusion: As far as momentum is concerned, Milwaukee celebrated a resounding victory over the weekend, while Denver was the unexpected victim of a so-called blowout.
The Bucks should be able to upset the defending champs at home and take advantage of Giannis Antetokounmpo’s brief stint against the Hornets to expect a strong showing from the Greek.
Nikola Jokic will once again take on the role of provider rather than enforcer. The tight double-man coverage will force the Serbian to once again make his mark with his outstanding playmaking qualities.
My Bucks Nuggets tip: Jokic scores less than 27.5 points!
