The track of the Monza GP
The Formula 1 GP of Italy is run at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza, northeast of Milan.
The circuit was opened in 1922 and is a permanent fixture on the Formula 1 calendar.
Over the decades, the track has been modified several times. With a full throttle percentage of 70 percent, Monza is also the last high-speed circuit.
The Monza circuit is 5.793 kilometers long and includes 11 corners. In 53 laps, the Monza Grand Prix covers a distance of 306.720 kilometers.
Record winners at the Grand Prix are Michael Schumacher and Lewis Hamilton with five victories each.
Last year, Max Verstappen won the Italian Grand Prix in Monza.
Who is the favorite for the Monza Grand Prix 2023?
Who will win the Monza Grand Prix in 2023? Max Verstappen is dominating the 2023 Formula 1 season at will and will also start the race in Monza as the top favorite.
The Dutchman leads the world championship standings by 138 points ahead of his teammate Sergio Perez.
In this respect, it is absolutely plausible that the 25-year-old will also be the one to beat in Italy.
After nine wins in a row, however, the question is much more: Will there be a closely contested race like in Zandvoort or will Max Verstappen dominate like in Spa?
Much more exciting is the question of who will take places two and three behind him. At Zandvoort, Fernando Alonso drove to second place, while Pierre Gasly finished third.
At Spa, Sergio Perez and Charles Leclerc took positions two and three. So the battle for the podium places is sure to be exciting.
Regardless of Max Verstappen’s dominant performances, it will also be exciting to see in Monza whether anyone can pose a threat to the Red Bull driver – and who finishes second and third.
