ATP Tournament in Mallorca, Final, Saturday, 01.07.2023
Adrian Mannarino has prevented Yannick Hanfmann from reaching his third final at 250 level and now has the chance to win his third tournament at this level himself.
On Saturday he now has to play Christopher Eubanks. It is the first final for the US-American. Who will get that extra dose of self-confidence before Wimbledon? My Mannarino Eubanks tip deals with that.
Tonight Mannarino has the chance to win his third ATP 250 title. He already lifted the winner’s trophy in Hertogenbosch 2019 and Winston-Salem 2022.
He laid the foundation with a commanding performance against Hanfmann in the semi-finals. Mannarino moved well, the Karlsruhe native struggled to build pressure on his opponent.
Quick point wins with aggressive balls to the baseline were still part of the German’s daily business against Stefanos Tsitsipas and Feliciano Lopez.
However, Mannarino forced Hanfmann into long rallies again and again with a good return game. The German was unable to recall the 80 percent of points earned on his own serve from the previous matches.
The 43rd ranked player in the world took 40 per cent of the points from the German after his first serve, a strong performance. At the same time, he was more consistent on his own service, especially in the second set, than in the matches before.
Hanfmann only had two break opportunities, which he used in the first set. Mannarino’s mature game will also pose a real challenge to his opponent in the final.
The experienced Mannarino (1.66) goes into the final as favourite. Those who bet on Eubanks to win will get a 2.20 for their betting slip from Bet365.
The two professionals have already met this year. The US American won the Masters in Miami in two sets. 7-6, 7-6 was the result of the match, which was characterised by strong service games.
There were only two breaks in total. However, Mannarino played himself into the dangerous zone again and again with nine break chances. In contrast, his opponent had only one chance, but performed better in the decisive moments.
In the end, Eubanks only scored two points more than Mannarino. This first duel whets the appetite for the final in Mallorca.
Another tiebreak is conceivable. If Eubanks regularly finds his first serve, he wins his service games quickly. The same goes for the agile Mannarino.
For more than 0.5 tiebreaks Betano has a 1.70 on offer. Those who speculate on two tiebreaks like in the first duel can quintuple their bet in case of success.
How exciting it could become is not only shown by the odds, which are already close together. The bookmakers could well envisage a three-set match as well.
Two sets are in the odds range of 1.66. The 2.10 for three rounds is much lower than for other matches.
Good odds are part of Bet-at-home’s line-up: under 12.5 games for Eubanks: 1.88. Overall, like the bettors, I see Mannarino with a slight advantage.
If he wins the match over two sets, the bet is through. At the same time, the sports betting fan is also covered for a 2:0 for Eubanks if the match goes without a tiebreak. A lucrative odds for this double scenario.
The man from Atlanta has already played eleven rounds, Mannarino only seven sets, who was allowed to skip the first round as a seeded player.
My Mannarino Eubanks Tip
Eubanks is going for his first ATP title, taking out Alex Michelsen, Ben Shelton, Arthur Rinderknech and Lloyd Harris en route to the final.
Only in one match did he not have to play out a third set. But I don’t want to talk about a freshness advantage with Mannarino, who is eight years older and plays more intense points.
Nevertheless, I see the Frenchman at an advantage in the final. He is agile, won against a strong Hanfmann and already had nine break chances in the first duel against Eubanks. He also has more experience on grass and in finals.
I don’t think Eubanks will win his first ATP final at 250 level and expect Mannarino to triumph in Mallorca. So my Mannarino Eubanks tip is: Win Mannarino!
