NBA 2022/23, on Tuesday, 06.12.2022
In the shadow of the World Cup in Qatar overshadowing everything, I just couldn’t pass up a duel like the one between the Orlando Magic and the Milwaukee Bucks.
From an NBA betting expert’s perspective, there is hardly a pairing that has so consistently produced the same winner in recent years. Tonight in particular, I expect my Magic Bucks tip to keep me guessing this time as well.
The Lakers’ offense had a stellar day against the Bucks, led by LeBron and AD, Los Angeles shot over 53 percent from the field, committed only 4 turnovers and gave the Green and Whites 70 points in the zone.
In the end, not even Milwaukee could cope with this concentrated power. The game went very narrowly to the Californians with 133:129, but they lack the consistency to reach the NBA Finals in the long run.
The Bucks, on the other hand, are characterised by much more consistency, which comes to the fore especially in games against the NBA’s minnows. It’s not for nothing that they are the second best franchise in the Eastern Conference with a record of 16-6.
Right after the loss to the Lakers, the Bucks were able to pull off an emphatic 105-96 victory in the game against the Hornets, all without Giannis Antetokounmpo. Now an opponent of comparable playing strength awaits.
The Magic are not only the worst franchise in the entire NBA with five wins, but have also accumulated eight losses in a row and, given the tough schedule, are in danger of
and, given the tough schedule, are in danger of soon reaching double figures in that regard.
Milwaukee also has no reason to fear that Orlando possesses a single player of the quality of Anthony Davis who could single-handedly beat them. The bottom of the table does possess a few diamonds in the rough, but all of them have yet to mature.
The Magic have never won more than two straight NBA games in the 2021-22 season that just ended. That alone shows how hard this franchise has struggled to avoid defeat.
Especially against their upcoming opponents, the last-place team in the Eastern Conference has not covered itself with glory in recent years – quite the opposite: each of the last eleven direct duels went to the Bucks.
Over this period, there have actually been no close affairs. The most exciting between these two franchises came on 11/21/2021, when Milwaukee won 117-108 – all other victories over the Magic, however, were more emphatic!
It’s far from the case that the Magic are one big building site. For in fact, one of the NBA’s worst franchises is seeing some notable improvements from last year.
For example, 61.6% of all attempts from the paint were successfully converted this season, but exactly this could become a problem, because especially in this area there is no tougher opponent than the Bucks.
With their big guys, Milwaukee can exert enormous pressure in the immediate vicinity of the basket – especially if Giannis Antetokounmpo will be back after his short breather against the Hornets.
If the leading sportsbooks had their way, the winner of this game could already be announced publicly.
Because the current Magic Bucks odds quickly make it clear, even to the basketball layman, that the visitors are heavily favoured at around 1.15.
By the way: The last direct duel was almost exactly one year ago and went with 136:118 to the Bucks.
Giannis Antetokounmpo was once again the star of the evening with 33 points.
Should the Greek suit up tonight, I would personally advise even a higher handicap bet than I chose in my Magic Bucks tip.
Conclusion: This pairing has always promised one-way basketball at its finest in recent years. In fact, the Bucks have won each of the last 11 head-to-head duels, always putting at least 9 points between themselves and the Magic.
Orlando, meanwhile, has lost eight straight NBA games and is simply no match for an opponent like the Green and Whites, especially in areas of the court where they have improved greatly of late.
After all, hulks like Brook Lopez are playing like King Kong in the paint – and if Anthony Davis hadn’t had his best game of the season a few days ago, the Bucks would be chasing their sixth straight win tonight.
My Magic Bucks tip: The visitors win at a HC of -7.5.
