Eintracht Frankfurt vs. TSG Hoffenheim
Two games are still to come for the 18 clubs in the Bundesliga before many of their players embark on the journey to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. The in-form SG Eintracht Frankfurt will take on TSG Hoffenheim in the 14th matchday. Kick-off is on Wednesday evening at 20:30.
The form curves of both teams clearly point to a home win. While the Eagles have won six of their last seven competitive matches, TSG have picked up just a single point from their last three games. In the period of the last seven games, the Himmelblauen have only won the away game at bottom of the table Schalke 04 with 3:0. Andre Breitenreiter’s team has thus quickly squandered the credit of its good start to the season.
The last two games against Frankfurt and Wolfsburg will now determine the mood of the Sinsheim team going into the winter break. What we think about the clash with the SGE and our predictions for it are revealed in our Frankfurt vs Hoffenheim betting tips.

Frankfurt Form & Balance Check
With 23 points from 13 games, SG Eintracht Frankfurt are playing their best season in four years, where they had an identical number of points at this point. In the current season, however, the strong start to the season in the Bundesliga has to be rated a little higher, as the Eagles have also qualified for the last 16 in the Champions League at the same time. The double burden has hardly caused the team any problems so far. On the contrary – the three-day rhythm even seems to have a positive effect.
High load is good for the team
Since Matchday 4 (the first game in the top flight took place after Matchday 5), the Eagles have taken 21 points from ten games – no Bundesliga team more. Of the last seven games, Eintracht only failed to win the away game in Bochum (0:3) and the extremely unlucky home game against Borussia Dortmund (1:2). One of the reasons for the success is undoubtedly the effectiveness in front of the opponent’s goal. Frankfurt has the best scoring rate in the Bundesliga this season, with the SGE scoring every sixth goal on average. Only in the defeat against Dortmund (20:7 shots) did the Eagles suffer from a poor chance conversion.
Statistically, it is not unlikely that the next three points will come against Hoffenheim. Frankfurt has been unbeaten against TSG for six home games, among the current Bundesliga teams only against RB Leipzig (ten) and Schalke (seven) longer. Moreover, midfielder Mario Götze is a real Hoffenheim expert. The 30-year-old scored as often against no other current Bundesliga team as he did against TSG (five times).
Frankfurt facts & analysis
– 23 points from 13 games
– Last win 2:1 in Augsburg
– Unbeaten in 6 home games against Hoffenheim (3S, 3U)
Hoffenheim form & balance check
The guests from Sinsheim have been praised to the skies after their good start to the season. TSG won four of their first six games and without the additional burden of an international competition, many experts assumed that Andre Breitenreiter’s team would be able to compete for the Champions League places this year. However, the team is now far away from that again.
In the standings, TSG has slipped to ninth place after only one win from the last seven games. Sixth place is already four points away. Especially in their own stadium, the form curve continues to show a downward trend. Three home wins at the start were followed by the goalless draw against SC Freiburg, before Hoffenheim lost all of their last three home games against Bremen (1:2), Bayern (0:2) and Leipzig (1:3).
Dead pants on the offensive
The defence remains relatively stable, but offensively there is a clear downward trend. Apart from the 3:0 at Schalke, Munas Dabbur & Co. have never scored more than once in the last seven games. In the first six games, TSG still scored twelve goals, an average of two per game.
Perhaps it would make sense to try again from distance in the remaining two games before the winter break. Hoffenheim are still without a long-range goal this calendar year and are the only team this season not to have scored from distance. The last long-range goal was scored by Dennis Geiger on 4 December 2021 – against upcoming opponents Eintracht Frankfurt, of course.
Hoffenheim facts & analysis
– 18 points from 13 games
– Last lost 1:3 against Leipzig
– Scored at most 1 time in 6 of last 7 games
Predicted line-up – last update on 7 November 2022
Daichi Kamada missed the last game due to illness and could be back against Hoffenheim. Christopher Lenz is unlikely to be a candidate for the squad again until next weekend. Otherwise, only Aurelio Buta and Makoto Hasebe are missing. There are hardly any question marks in the starting eleven. If Kamada is absent again, he will most likely be replaced by Sebastian Rode. Otherwise, a variant with Kristijan Jakic in midfield and Hrvoje Smolcic in the three-man backline would also be conceivable.
TSG will still have to do without Ihlas Bebou, Munas Dabbur, Benjamin Hübner and Luca Philipp. After the 1:3 defeat against Leipzig, Grischa Prömel is now also out with a broken ankle. Sebastian Rudy or Angelo Stiller could take his place in the starting eleven. Kevin Akpoguma was substituted with a slight injury, his fitness for action is still open. Ozan Kabak is available again after serving his suspension. We also expect Andrej Kramaric to return to the starting eleven.
