US Open Tips today – Matches today from 06.09.
The US Open 2022 is going from strength to strength, and by now the field of the best eight men and women is almost complete! The schedule for Tuesday includes the first part of the quarter-finals.
In the absence of Novak Djokovic, the men have started, and the actual top favourite and world number one Daniil Medevdev is also no longer playing. Instead, Nick Kyrgios shows that he can actually be trusted with a Grand Slam title this year.
But not only he wants to cause a sensation in our tennis tips, Matteo Berrettini is also striving to forget his Corona exit from Wimbledon in New York. Can he reach the semi-finals or is Casper Ruud a touch stronger?
US Open today – tips 09/06/2022
US Open tips today – 06.09.2022
Both Matteo Berrettini and Casper Ruud should have the makings of champions by now, but which of them will reach the semi-finals? The bookmakers see the Norwegian in front by a narrow margin, but expect a close, intense match.
The bookmakers think quite differently about Nick Kyrgios and Karen Khachanov. Here, the Australian is the overwhelming favourite. Of course, after all, he recently threw out Daniil Medevdev. Will it now be the turn of the next Russian?
The best woman in New York is being sought, and for the fans it would of course be especially nice if she were to wear their own colours. Cori Gauff will do her best to win her quarter-final against Caroline Garcia.
One Jabeur knows what a final at a Grand Slam feels like. After her defeat at Wimbledon, she will be hoping for another chance quickly. In any case, Ajla Tomljanovic must not be allowed to become a stumbling block on Tuesday
US Open tips today broadcast: Where are the matches on 06.09.?
There are now not quite so many matches that Eurosport has to broadcast. From late afternoon onwards, fans can watch the matches live, and thanks to the cooperation with DAZN, the Eurosport 1 programme can also be accessed in this way.
US Open tips today 06.09.: Matteo Berrettini – Casper Ruud (18:00)
They have played the same number of sets, almost celebrated the identical successes. It’s clear that Matteo Berrettini and Casper Ruud are also close in terms of the odds. With 1.80 to 1.95, the Norwegian is just ahead.
Perhaps because he leads 3:2 in the direct comparison? He has won all his matches on clay, his favourite surface, but now he has to play on hard court. Here Berrettini has won the only duel! Both players have collected the same results in New York, so no one should be fitter than the other.
Berrettini has won against Nicolas Jerry, Hugo Grenier, Andy Murray and Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, against the Spaniard in the last 16 he gave up an incredible 13 opportunities to break his opponent. Highly unusual for the serve specialist.
Ruud, on the other hand, collected his wins against Kyle Edmund, Tim van Rijthoven, Tommy Paul and Corentn Moutet. His toughest opponent: Paul, who forced him to a 7-6, 6-7, 7-6, 6-7, 6-0.
Our expert tip: Over 3.5 sets
US Open tips today 06.09: Nick Kyrgios – Karen Khachanov (02:15)
He was considered a co-favourite from the start, but is he actually ready for the title yet? Nick Kyrgios is showing his best side in New York, as expected. After his wins against Thanasi Kokkinakis, Benjamin Bonzi (in four sets) and J.J. Wolf, the biggest match was waiting.
Against defending champion and world No. 1 Daniil Medvedev, Kyrgios celebrated a 7-6, 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 and advanced to the next round to great cheers. He hits well over 20 aces per match, and that’s not the only reason he’s way ahead of Karen Khachanov with odds of 1.15 to 4.90.
The Russian and Kyrgios met twice, at 1-1 both duels were incredibly close and featured SIX tiebreaks. Khachanov has beaten Denis Kudla, Thiago Monteiro and Pablo Carreno Busta so far in this US Open. Jack Draper, on the other hand, he only defeated by forfeit.
Will that give him the decisive strength? Khachanov is just as strong on service, but he doesn’t have the power of Nick Kyrgios by a long shot. Before the US Open, it was clearly the Australian who had the better results.
Our Expert Tip: Over 36.5 Games
US Open tips today 06.09.: Coco Gauff – Caroline Garcia (20:00)
What a great story it would be for the fans in New York if Coco Gauff could storm to the top at just 18 years old! The local hero has yet to drop a set at home, beating Leolia Jeanjean, Elena-Gabriela Ruse, Madison Keys and Zhang Shuai.
After losing the final at the French Open, she could advance to another final in a short time, provided she wins twice more. She has won both head-to-head duels against Caroline Garcia, even outright in Doha in 2022.
Dennoch: At 1.70 to 2.10, it is the Frenchwoman who is slightly ahead. After Roland Garros 2017, this is only the second GS quarterfinal of her already long career, she seems to have saved her best form for the end of her 20s.
In New York, at least, she hasn’t shown any weaknesses yet, beating Kamilla Rakhimova, Anna Kalinskaya, Bianca Andreescu and Alison Riske. Not somehow, but quite strongly without losing a set.

US Open tips today 06.09.: Ons Jabeur – Ajla Tomljanovic (19:00)
Ajla Tomljanovic reached two quarter-finals in a row last time out at Wimbledon, and now she has made the step up for the first time at the US Open. The Australian will face Ons Jabeur for the third time after 2012 and 2022, and will be desperate to avoid a third defeat.
2.80 to 1.40, her deficit at the bookmakers is not big. Not only did she prevail over Karolina Muchova and Jevgenia Rodina, she was the one who presumably ended Serena Williams’ career with a 7-5, 6-7, 6-1.
She went on to beat Lyudmila Samsonova 7-6, 6-1 in the last 16. Ons Jabeur, though, is also playing a great Grand Slam so far in the Big Apple, and that’s just a few months after her Wimbledon final loss.
Madison Brengle, Elisabeth Mandlik, Shelby Rogers and Veronika Kudermetova all lost to her, only against Rogers did she lose a set. Having never made it past the 3rd round in New York, her current Grand Slam is already her greatest success at the US Open.
