Juventus Turin vs. Lazio Roma
While the last games of the 2021/22 season are scheduled in the Bundesliga this weekend, the penultimate matchday of the current season will only be played in the Italian Serie A. However, in the clash between Juventus Turin and Lazio Roma, which kicks off at the Allianz Stadium in Turin at 20:45 on Monday evening, only the visitors still have something at stake.
Juventus are still in with a chance of finishing third, but fourth place and a place in the Champions League are already assured. With two games to go, Juventus have an unassailable seven-point lead over their opponents from Rome, who are sitting in fifth place. For Lazio, on the other hand, any position between fifth and eighth is still possible.
So the pressure is clearly on the visitors. Our Juventus vs. Lazio betting tips tell you whether we think the Biancocelesti will be successful in Turin and what we think about this match.

Juventus Form & Balance Check
After a rather mixed year, Juventus Turin had the opportunity last Wednesday to at least give the 2021/22 season a successful finish by winning the Coppa Italia. But this plan could not be put into practice either. The Old Lady turned an early 1-0 deficit into a 2-1 lead shortly after the break with a lightning brace from striker Vlahovic, but a powerful penalty from Inter’s Calhanoglu in the 80th minute finally brought things back to level. In the extra time that followed, Inter ultimately deserved to win 4:2.
At least the Champions League is safe
In the league, all the important questions have already been settled. With the 1-2 defeat at FC Genoa on the last matchday, Juventus’ chances of third place have shrunk, but this one place in the table does not make a big difference in the end. The drop to fifth place would no longer be possible even with another defeat against their immediate rivals Lazio Roma.
Planning for the new season can thus move forward. Captain Giorgio Chiellini, who has worn the Old Lady’s jersey since the 2005/06 season, will no longer be on board for the upcoming season. Paulo Dybala will also leave the club in the summer. Loan player Alvaro Morata will return to his parent club Atlético Madrid. With regard to possible new arrivals, the rumour mill is bubbling as usual. The names Manuel Akanji, Paul Pogba and Serge Gnabry are among those being bandied about.
Juventus facts & analysis
– 69 points from 36 games.
– Last lost 1:2 at CFC Genoa
– None of the last 4 duels with Lazio lost
Lazio Form & Balance Check
The visitors from Rome have played a solid season on the whole, but they have also had some weaker phases which might even cost them international business in the end. We are thinking, for example, of the two consecutive away defeats at Bologna (0:3) and Hellas Verona (0:4) or the period between 30 October and 2 December, in which the Biancocelesti took just five points from five games.
Biancocelesti in good form
The final spurt, however, was again quite successful. They won six of their last nine league games, only losing at city rivals AS Roma (0:3) and at home against league leaders AC Milan (1:2). Lazio drew 1-1 with FC Torino. Most recently, a 4-3 away win at Spezia was followed by a commanding 2-0 home win over Sampdoria Genoa.
Fifth place in the table is within reach. The lead over the three pursuers AS Roma, AC Florence and Atalanta Bergamo is three points each with two matchdays to go. Only Atalanta is better on goal difference. So if Lazio manage to pick up at least four points from their remaining games, their rivals can win as often and as high as they like. For Juventus, the main goal will therefore be not to lose, in order to clinch everything with a home win against Verona on the last matchday.
Lazio facts & analysis
– 62 points from 36 games
– Last 2:0 win against Sampdoria
– Won 5 of last 7 away games
Predicted line-up – last updated 13 May 2022
There will certainly be changes at the hosts compared to the final defeat against Inter. Bonucci, Morata and Locatelli are among the candidates who could move into the starting eleven. Chiesa, Danilo, McKennie and youngster Jorge are still missing. Club legend Chiellini will certainly be on the pitch again in the last home game after announcing his departure in the summer.
For Lazio, only Pedro is missing due to calf problems. He has already missed the last four league games. Compared to the 2-0 win against Sampdoria Genoa, the team could remain unchanged. Due to the league situation, the top eleven is in demand.
