Wimbledon today – Matches on July 8

Quarterfinals at Wimbledon and German tennis fans are keeping a close eye on one player today: Laura Siegemund! She is in the last eight in London for the first time. She previously achieved this feat only in Paris in 2020.

The three-time Grand Slam doubles winner now faces a very difficult task as she takes on the world number one. Aryna Sabalenka is considered the clear favorite by our top betting providers, and we’ll need something of a miracle to see an upset here.

The winner will face the winner of the second women’s quarterfinal of the day in the semifinals. Amanda Anisimova will take on Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova. Of course, we also have the two men’s matches of the day in our Wimbledon tips today.

Carlos Alcaraz, champion of the last two tournaments, is likely to be the party pooper for the British crowd. He faces the last British representative in the singles competition, Cameron Norrie. Will he be given a beating by the five-time major champion?

Wimbledon today – July 8, 2025

The tournament odds point to another Alcaraz triumph on the hallowed turf, but those of his archrival Jannik Sinner have moved down. After all, the South Tyrolean is playing a confident tournament and still has a score to settle with Alcaraz after their thrilling Paris final.

And then there’s always a certain Novak Djokovic, who is desperate to bag his 25th career title and has won the most trophies at Wimbledon after Roger Federer, alongside a certain Pete Sampras.

But maybe a completely different player will make it this year. Taylor Fritz is more fired up than ever after losing the US Open final to Sinner. The American won two grass court tournaments before Wimbledon and is a really tough opponent when he’s on form.

Fritz is on court today with Karen Khachanov, and this match will determine Alcaraz’s opponent. I would go so far as to say that. Without wanting to detract from Norrie’s performance, I wonder how he made it to the quarter-finals. He lacks the tools to beat Alcaraz, especially the pace.

Wimbledon today, July 8: Anisimova – Pavlyuchenkova (3:40 p.m.)

The head-to-head speaks for itself. Anisimova has won three times, with Pavlyuchenkova only winning one set in their most recent encounter. On grass, the 14-year-younger American has the clear upper hand, reaching the final of the Queen’s Club 500 tournament.

She had to go to the third set twice, but always found her way into the matches and has dominated the first sets so far. She allowed very little on her own serve and returned dangerously at the same time. In addition to her hitting power, she is agile on the court for her height of 1.80 meters.

My expert tip: Set 1 & Match Anisimova

Wimbledon betting today 08.08.: Sabalenka – Siegemund (2:30 p.m.)

Based purely on the tournament so far, Siegemund has been more dominant than Sabalenka. The 37-year-old has dropped a maximum of three games in seven of eight sets, while Sabalenka is also yet to lose a set but has already been in three tiebreaks.

The only direct encounters took place in 2019, with the Belarusian winning both matches in quick succession. Siegmund will offer more in the return match. So far, the world number 104 has only dropped four service games, and with the odds so drastically different, I’m going for the following odds.

My expert tip: Sieg Siegemund (+6.5 games)

Tennis betting today 08.07.: Fritz – Khachanov (14:00)

Fritz is one of the extended circle of favorites and faces a player today who always manages to be in top form at major events. Khachanov has had some complicated matches, but recently won easily against Kamil Majchrzak.

The American has also had a few matches that went into overtime. In general, this duel is likely to be a long one. Since two top servers are facing each other and a clear victory has been the exception rather than the rule for both players recently, the choice is not difficult for me. The Betano Bet Builder lets us combine something nice.

My expert tip: Over 3.5 sets & tiebreak

Tennis betting today 08.07.: Norrie – Alcaraz (3:40 p.m.)

If Alcaraz plays too wildly and has a really bad day, things could get uncomfortable against Norrie. He has lost two of his six matches against the Brit, who plays defensively and confidently. Norrie will have to hope for mistakes from the Spaniard, otherwise it will be a clear-cut affair.

Norrie lacks the speed to pose a threat to Alcaraz. He got Nicolas Jarry into long rallies and benefited from his many unforced errors. However, Alcaraz likes to drop a set, so I see value in the following bet, as it is likely to be a break-heavy match.

My expert tip: No tiebreak in the match
