Will he be the big German surprise in London? Maximilian Marterer will make his first appearance in the 2nd round of Wimbledon on Wednesday, having already fought his way through four matches as a qualifier.
Against Aljaz Bedene, the 27-year-old was actually the underdog and lost the first set. In the end, however, he celebrated a 4-6, 7-5, 6-4, 7-5. A close, hard-fought result, he already attracted attention in the qualifying.
