Tennis tips today – Matches today from 20.06.
After a real tour de force, Alexander Zverev has qualified for the quarter-finals in Halle. We predicted his victory, including the tiebreak, with odds above 2.00 in yesterday’s overview. Today’s tennis tips include the next match for the Hamburg native.
And he’s up against an Italian again. Lorenzo Sonego, against whom he remains undefeated, is followed by Flavio Cobolli. He has already played against him in the French Open, and it was not an easy match for the Olympic champion.
However, Zverev is the much more experienced player and, with his good defense, should be able to show a better winner/error ratio here and secure his place in the semifinals. His chances of winning the title are high.
Jannik Sinner has already been eliminated, with the South Tyrolean losing to Alexander Bublik in the round of 16. The current world number one has not been knocked out of a tournament this early since 2023. But as I wrote yesterday, the Kazakh is a very tough nut to crack on grass.
Tennis tips today – June 20, 2025
Unlike Zverev, Bublik has already triumphed in Halle, winning his only 500 title to date, and he wants to follow that up with a second. He faces Tomas Machac, a player who also loves the fast game and has a really dangerous forehand.
In recent months, the Czech, who is one of the world stars of tomorrow, has been repeatedly hampered by his body. In Halle, he is in strong form. In addition to these two matches from Halle, we look ahead to the top matches in London.
Carlos Alcaraz is back in action, having had a surprisingly tough time against Jaume Munar and now facing a completely different type of player in the tall Arthur Rinderknech.
Our overview of the day is rounded off with Holger Rune’s match. The Barcelona winner and Indian Wells finalist this year wants to start the match better than he did against Mackenzie McDonald, but he also lost the first set against the Spaniard recently in Paris.
Tennis tips today Broadcast: Where are the matches on June 20?
Zverev’s quarter-final match will be broadcast live on free-to-air TV on Eurosport 1. You will need Discovery+ for all indoor matches, with additional matches also available on Sky Sport Tennis.
My tip: Save yourself the hassle of switching channels and create an account with Winamax or Bet365. You can follow all of the day’s tennis matches live via live stream at the betting providers.
Tennis tips today, June 20: Cobolli – Zverev (1:00 p.m.)
A strong 2.70 is waiting for the same bet I recommended yesterday against Sonego. Zverev has the better overall package and should be much more dangerous on the counterattack than his opponent, forcing him into mistakes in longer rallies.
But the world number 24 has already shown in Paris that she can be dangerous to Zverev with her aggressive style of play and healthy error rate. I can well imagine another close set. In the first round, Cobolli conceded just one break in three sets.
Our expert tip: Zverev to win & tiebreak in the match
Tennis betting today 20.06.: Bublik – Machac (3:00 p.m.)
Bublik is now one of the clear favorites in Halle after his victory over Sinner. However, he still has a few hurdles to overcome before he can lift the trophy, including Machac, who had an easier path than Jeser De Jong and Fabian Marozsan, who is inexperienced on grass.
We can expect a fast-paced match in this duel. Like Machac, Bublik only dropped one service game in the last round. I expect a lot of fast and short games, with long rallies likely to be few and far between. Betano has the right odds.
Our expert tip: Tiebreak in the match
Tennis betting today, June 20: Alcaraz – Rinderknech (4:00 p.m.)
Let’s jump to London! Alcaraz wants to improve his performance after a shaky match against Munar. Overall, the 2023 and 2024 Wimbledon winner fought off a whopping twelve break points. He needs to serve more consistently against Rinderknech; against Munar, only 52 percent of his first serves were in.
Rinderknech won’t give him many opportunities on his own serve; he didn’t have to fend off any break points against Reilly Opelka and Ben Shelton, winning more than three-quarters of the points in each match. Exactly two years ago, they played their last duel, and Alcaraz had his problems then too.
Our expert tip: Tiebreak in the match
Tennis betting today 20.06: Rune – Bautista Agut (5:30 p.m.)
I was surprised by Rune’s 2-6 in the first set against McDonald, but then the Dane really turned it on and showed the American his limits with hard shots towards the lines. In this form, the Dane is a danger to any opponent.
Today, he faces Bautista Agut, who is experienced on grass and has his best win rate on this surface. Rune is also currently struggling to play a perfect match. When he fails to hit the balls in his aggressive game during certain phases, he tends to throw away a set.
Our expert tip: 3 sets
