Betting odds, basketball tip & prediction for Detroit Pistons vs Brooklyn Nets
In the new NBA season, the Detroit Pistons and the Brooklyn Nets will meet again within just a few days on Saturday – but this time at Little Caesars Arena.
According to my Pistons Nets forecast, another landslide victory by the clear favourites from New York – even without Kyrie Irving, who has fallen out of favour since the start of the season – seems inevitable.
With this squad, the Nets should have won the NBA title last season – there is no doubt about that. But compared to last year, the chances of this year’s trophy are much worse this time!
This has less to do with the fact that the Black and Whites, with a record of (4:3), have got off to a mediocre start at best by their standards, but primarily with the fact that superstar Kyrie Irving has not yet played a single game.
That is unlikely to change, as the member of New York’s dreaded “Big Three” has been suspended by the club for speaking out against a Corona vaccination – and the board is not about to back down from that internal decision.
While this personnel decision reduces the chances of an overall win, I still see the Nets clearly ahead with regard to the upcoming game against the Pistons – especially because Durant and Harden are getting better and better.
Not only have New York won each of their last three games, but one of those victories came in an already emphatic 117-91 triumph over the Detroit Pistons, who they will face again on Saturday.
On this occasion it was Durant and Harden who gave the Bad Boys no chance. James Harden had such a good grip on the Pistons that he was even able to celebrate his first triple-double of the season on that evening.
For his part, teammate Durant scored the most points (23) against Detroit, but his season highlight was yet to come. For in his last appearance on Thursday against the Hawks, Durantula led his men to a narrow but deserved victory with a contribution of a whopping 32 points.
Meanwhile, the Nets will set the tone in the half court and especially in rebounds on Saturday – that much is certain! Detroit simply does not have enough quality players to really stand up to the team from New York.
That starts with the fact that the Bad Boys already had the worst record in the conference last season (20-52) and have also started this year with only one win from the first seven games.
Problematic for the home side is also the induction of many young players who possess the talent but have yet to grow together as a collective – the Nets could benefit from this lack of coordination again within just a few days.
Not only have the Pistons lost almost every game this season without exception, but with an average of only 95.1 points per game, they are by far the team with the worst output under the opponent’s basket.
But that’s not all, because the Bad Boys are also at the bottom of the league in the categories FG%, three-point percentage and defensive rebounds.
On Saturday, their problems in winning the ball under their own basket alone could prove fatal against an absolute rebounding specialist like James Harden!
Both old and new bookmakers are unsurprisingly expecting the visitors from New York to win again just a few days after their last triumph over the underdogs.
At least that’s what the odds of about 1.15 for a favourite win express, while a Pistons win is currently being traded at a much higher 4.70!
By the way, this could be the Nets’ fourth win over Detroit in a row – provided Durant and Harden can successfully recall their performances from just a few days ago!
Summary: Both teams are in two different spheres and even if the Nets are not in full possession of their powers, there should be no doubt who will enter the arena as the favourite on Saturday.
The New Yorkers have already celebrated a convincing victory over the Pistons only a few days ago, which was accompanied by a lead of 26 points and in the course of which James Harden could even achieve a triple-double!
For their part, the Pistons won only one of their eight games of the season – and that only against the Orlando Magic. In many of the important NBA statistics, however, they are already at the bottom of the league!
