Paris Masters 2022: The favourites in the betting odds

Who are the favourites for the Paris Masters 2022? Almost all the top players are in the mix, with only Alexander Zverev still out due to injury.

Apart from that, however, everyone who is anyone is here. Last year’s winner and six-time champion Novak Djokovic, youngster Carlos Alcaraz or Rafael Nadal, who has never won in Paris-Bercy!

With Casper Ruud and Stefanos Tsitsipas, two more of the next generation are preparing to win the Masters1000 in Paris for the first time.

Daniil Medvedev, who also reached the final last year, has already done so. The Russian is logically a very hot contender for the title.

Paris Masters Betting: Favourite Novak Djokovic

Although Novak Djokovic is not necessarily in his top form as he is not even allowed to compete in many tournaments, he is one of the Paris Masters favourites.

No one has won the tournament as many times as he has (6), only once did he reach the final and fail to win it: in 2018 against Karen Khachanov.

Although he is ranked lower in the ATP rankings than he has been for a long time at No. 7, he still holds four tournament victories.

Besides Wimbledon and the Masters in Rome, these are Astana and Tel Aviv: two hard-court indoor tournaments. The best conditions for Paris-Bercy.

Little surprise, then, that he is to be found at the top of the Pairs Masters 2022 betting odds.

Paris-Bercy 2022 odds for Carlos Alcaraz

At just 19, he is already ATP number-one and his title listing this year could hardly read better: US Open, Masters Madrid, Barcelona, Masters Miami and Rio de Janeiro.

Admittedly, there is no hard-court indoor tournament among them, but with a victory at the US Open, one should not question the performances on hard court anyway.

If the Spaniard can play his best tennis, it will be hard for even the big-name competition to beat him.

So for Paris Masters betting and tournament winner odds, Alcaraz has to be listed at the top.

Daniil Medvedev and Rafael Nadal as toughest competition?

The two of them will probably have to be beaten if they want to get the victory in Paris-Bercy. The two players most likely to do so are Medvedev and Nadal.

Rafa, however, does not like this indoor tournament at all. The Spaniard has only played in one final, in 2007 he lost in two sets to David Nalbandian.

This is particularly curious because he celebrated his greatest successes just a few kilometres away – albeit on a different surface.

Will Rafael Nadal deliver one last Hallelujah at the Masters Paris 2022? It would be a good thing for him.

Daniil Medvedev is much more likely to win the title. In contrast to Rafa, the Russian has already shown that he feels at home here.

In 2020, he defeated Alexander Zverev in the final after even losing the first set.

A year later he was in the final again, this time even taking the first set, but was then put in his place by the Djoker.

A repeat of this final is anything but unlikely. After all, Medvedev comes to Paris with the tournament win from Vienna.

Other Paris Masters betting odds contenders

Casper Ruud is also playing a fantastic year and can have legitimate hopes in Paris-Bercy. However, he is not the biggest fan of hard courts either, which does not make him the top favourite.

Stefanos Tsitsipas used to be considered an indoor specialist, and at the beginning of his great career he won mainly on hard courts. In the meantime, however, it has been two years since his last victory at such a tournament.

Has the Greek possibly forgotten how to play? Of course, he should not be underestimated, but he will have to outgrow himself.

The same goes for Andrey Rublev, Taylor Fritz, Félix Auger-Aliassime and Hubert Hurkacz. They are all considered potential, but not necessarily obvious, winners at the ATP 1000 in Paris.

The Paris Masters prize money 2022

The prize money of the Masters1000 tournament – officially “Rolex Paris Masters” – totals 5,415,410 euros.

The tournament winner, in addition to the 1000 points for the ATP ranking, receives 836,355 euros, not quite a million.

The finalist receives about half as much in points as in income: € 456,720. Even those who are eliminated in the 1st round still get €21,650.
