Miami Masters, quarter-finals, Thursday, 03/27/2025, 9:00 p.m.
Quarter-final time in Miami and the most successful player of all time is still in the thick of it: Novak Djokovic. No one has won the Masters more often – and he is now also the record holder in terms of most match successes at the 1,000 level.
In the round of the last eight players, he will face US player Sebastian Korda, who has already been able to beat some of the big names in the sport in his career. In my Korda Djokovic betting tip, I trust that he will at least make it to the tiebreak once! NEO.bet serves up the right bet.
Djokovic has so far marched through the field of the second Masters of the year at a rapid pace. So far, the Serb has made it through without losing a set. Most impressive, I thought, was the 6-2, 6-2 against top 20 player Lorenzo Musetti.
He had a tougher time in Doha and Indian Wells, losing to Matteo Berrettini and Botic van de Zandschulp in his opening matches. His form in Florida is now quite different. Nevertheless, I don’t expect a quick march through like last year.
Djokovic had to go to a tiebreak against Rinky Hijikata and Camilo Ugo Carabelli. We at NEO.bet are offering tempting 2.26 odds for this. At 1.23, Djokovic is well ahead in the match outcome market. Korda’s victory would quadruple the stake if he wins.
NEO.bet offers tax-free odds and a great sports betting app that makes it even easier for me to find the right odds. However, I don’t see value in any of the win odds, instead the tiebreak odds are a hot iron.
Djoker has already played two tiebreaks in three rounds and his opponent, at 1.96 meters, is one of the top servers and also has a home field advantage in Florida. The world’s 24th-born also had to go into the hot set decision against Stefanos Tsitsipas (7-6, 6-3).
In total, he conceded five breaks over the entire tournament, a manageable number considering the seven sets played. However, his first serve percentage could be better, which is why I would rather opt for the tiebreak and against Korda winning the set (2.04).
Against players with dangerous first serves, Djokovic had struggled more often this year. He lost the first set to Berrettini at the Australian Open before his injury-related withdrawal against Alexander Zverev and lost to Reilly Opelka in Brisbane.
But Korda is best known for his outstanding hitting skills. Djokovic himself once described him as a player with “the cleanest technique”. In addition, the taller American benefits from the faster court conditions in Miami.
And in 2021, he was already in the quarterfinals at this venue. In recent years, various injuries have slowed him down and taken away his rhythm. His best performance before reaching the Miami quarterfinals was reaching the final in Adelaide in 2025.
At his home tournament, he has only lost one set so far, successfully taking revenge on Gael Monfils in the last round for the opening defeat in Indian Wells. And he also has a score to settle with Djokovic.
In their only previous encounter, the 24-time Grand Slam champion prevailed, albeit very narrowly. After two tiebreaks, the final score in Brisbane was 6-7, 7-6, 6-4 to Djokovic. Korda hit 15 aces and only lost every third point on his serve, an even more solid performance against the high-flyer from Belgrade.
I don’t expect it to be that close this time, but ultimately one or two sets should go the distance.
My Korda Djokovic tip
Miami record champion Djokovic is still without a set loss in Korda’s home country. I expect a more complicated affair against the local hero. He met him two years ago in Adelaide, we saw three sets and two tiebreaks.
I don’t expect many breaks this time either. Korda is a very good server, against which the “Djoker” had a hard time every now and then in 2025. Besides, Korda has won every third match against a top-10 player in his career and has only dropped one set so far in the tournament.
I therefore expect him to hold his own in the sets and force Djokovic into a tiebreak at least once. By the way, as a new customer, you can take on the NEO.bet bet with a 10-euro freebet before you make your first deposit.
My Korda Djokovic prediction: Match in tiebreaks
