French Open today – Matches on May 28.

Alexander Zverev reached the second round without much trouble and successfully avenged his defeat in Acapulco against Learner Tien. In three quick sets, he cleared the first of seven hurdles on his way to his first Grand Slam title without losing a single service game.

On Wednesday, he has a day to catch his breath before facing Dutchman Jesper de Jong. In today’s tennis tips, we have two other matches with German participation: Taylor-Fritz conqueror Daniel Altmaier wants to advance to the round of 32.

The Kempen native must prevail against Vit Kopriva. In addition, Germany’s number one woman is back on the biggest French tennis stage: Eva Lys. She is only considered a slight underdog by our betting provider, but is that justified?

We provide you with a brief individual analysis and the corresponding betting odds for this and the four other French Open matches we have in our program for you today.

French Open tips today – May 28, 2025

We take a closer look at five matches in the second round today, three in the women’s draw and two in the men’s. In addition to Lys, we look at the top elite in the women’s draw. Five-time tournament winner Iga Swiatek faces British star Emma Raducanu.

The world number one is also in action today, with Aryna Sabalenka facing Jil Teichmann, who did not put a foot wrong in the first round and, like the Belarusian, came through in straight sets. She is now aiming to cause an upset against the giant.

Carlos Alcaraz faces a man he has played only once on clay and lost to. We are talking about Fabian Marozsan, who played his way into the spotlight with his success in Rome back then.

He wants to use powerful tennis to break Alcaraz’s spell, just like he did in the Italian capital, and beat him at his own game. But like VBET and Co., I have my doubts that he will pull off the coup again.

French Open broadcast today: Where are the matches being played on May 28?

You can watch the French Open live on Eurosport 1 and Eurosport 2. All matches are shown on Discovery+. However, the live stream feature from Bet365 and Winamax is free, where you can watch all women’s and men’s matches, singles and doubles.

French Open today, May 28: Kopriva – Altmaier (11:00 a.m.)

Kopriva and Altmaier have played each other once before, with Altmaier winning, but that was four years ago. After a strong start against a weak Fritz, I see the German coming out on top in the second round as well.

The 26-year-old brings a versatile clay court game to the table and conceded just one break in the first round. He recently impressed at the Challenger in Turin, where he defeated Flavio Cobolli, among others.

My expert tip: Altmaier to win

French Open betting today 28.05.: Lys – Mboko (11:00 a.m.)

At the Australian Open, she made it into the main draw at the last minute and then reached the round of 16. Eva Lys is now ranked 59th in the world, her highest ranking ever. However, after Melbourne, she has only made it to the second round at the bigger tournaments.

Peyton Stearns knocked her out of the tournament 6-0, 6-3, showing nerves of steel by saving nine out of ten break points. Now she faces the 18-year-old qualifier, who has not dropped a set in her four matches and serves dangerously! I expect a close match.

My expert tip: 3 sets

Tennis betting today 28.05.: Marozsan – Alcaraz (1:30 p.m.)

I can still remember the first meeting between Marozsan and Alcaraz. Back then, the Hungarian prevailed against a favorite with odds of 1.01. In fact, the high-flyer from El Palmar has the same odds for Wednesday.

The four-time Grand Slam champion now appears much more mature and consistent. After his confident opening victory and the clear-cut affair in their last encounter, I expect three fairly straightforward sets for the defending champion, who will dictate the rallies with his power and speed.

My expert tip: 3:0 Alcaraz & no tiebreak

Tennis betting today 28.05.: Raducanu – Swiatek (3:30 p.m.)

Swiatek has lost some of her dominance. The long-time world number one is now only ranked fifth and has a poor win rate of 70 percent on clay this season. She has yet to win a title on her favorite surface in 2025.

Raducanu did manage to reach the round of 16 in Rome, but she has yet to win a match against Swiatek, with a head-to-head record of 0-5 and 0-10 in sets. I also see the four-time tournament winner coming out on top in Paris.

My expert tip: 2:0 Swiatek & no tiebreak

French Open today, May 28: Sabalenka – Teichmann (4:30 p.m.)

The odds difference could hardly be greater. In some cases, we are not even getting odds of 1.01 for a win by the number one seed. However, after Teichmann’s good start, I think that’s a bit too much, which is why I’m going for a Teichmann win with a +7.5 game advantage.

Sabalenka didn’t put a foot wrong in her opening match, dropping just one game. I expect more from the Swiss player, who serves better and should cause Sabalenka problems from time to time with risky returns. We mustn’t forget that Teichmann was knocking on the door of the top 20 just a few years ago.

My expert tip: Teichmann to win (+7.5 games HC)
