French Open tips today 05.06: Tomas Martin Etcheverry – Yohsihito Nishioka (15:30)
This player will bring a lot of joy to Argentine tennis fans in the future: Tomas Martin Etcheverry. The 23-year-old has now played his way into the top 50 and is also in the last 16 at Roland Garros.
The experts would not necessarily have expected him there. In round one he profited from a retirement of the Briton Jack Draper. He then took out Alex De Minaur and Borna Coric without losing a set.

Nicolas Jarry has to be included in the circle of extended favourites by now. The Chilean is currently riding a high tennis wave.
Jarry is currently on a winning streak of eight matches. He secured his top form at the 250 tournament in Geneva, where he also sent Zverev home after just two sets.
One round earlier, Casper Ruud was defeated and is now seeking revenge at the French Open. In Switzerland, he lost after three sets.
Jarry had no problems against Hugo Dellien, Tommy Paul and Marcos Giron. Ruud, like his opponent, only had to go through four sets twice.
Can he successfully fight back after the defeat in Geneva? At 1.50 you can bet on the Norwegian’s success. I would rather go for a number of sets bet.

As far as the freshness factor is concerned, Holger Rune might have the biggest advantage in the current tournament schedule. He was match-free after his opener against Christopher Eubanks (6-4, 3-6, 7-6, 6-2).
Local hero Gael Monfils was unable to make it to round two after his epic battle with Sebastian Baez. Rune then had an easy game against underdog Genaro Alberto Olivieri in round three.
In total, the young star created 20 break chances. Eight of them were enough to secure a clear three-set victory. But now, at the latest, the Dane has to be at 100 percent.
Francisco Cerundolo is a demanding opponent who has played his way to the top of the tennis rankings in the last two years. Like Rune, he has already beaten Sinner and Ruud on clay this year.
On his way to the round of 16, the 24-year-old beat Yannick Hanfmann, Jaume Munar and Taylor Fritz. I expect close sets in this Monday match.
