French Open tips today – Matches today from 27.05.
The French Open 2022 is entering its first Friday! The schedule is now focused on the 3rd round, so the top stars have already jumped the first hurdles. Admittedly, the title favourites have not shown any weaknesses so far.
Nevertheless, Friday should be particularly exciting. Both Alexander Zverev and Carlos Alcaraz have had big problems lately, hopefully the regeneration after their five-setters has been successful.
Of course, neither of them will have any easier opponents in the 3rd round. Will Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal be able to go through the tournament without any problems? These two are also in the starting line-up on Friday.
Granted, Cameron Norrie and Karen Khachanov can’t quite keep up with the aforementioned, but their duel has no clear favourite. This schedule really doesn’t sound like boredom.
French Open Tips Today – 27.05.2022 Preview Day 6
Novak Djokovic is leaving no doubt so far that he wants his 21st Grand Slam title. After two clear victories, he also wants to save his strength against Aljaz Bedene and progress in three sets.
Cameron Norrie has not lost a set so far, which is something the Briton does not really know. He is usually involved in long matches, and we could be in for one of those against Karen Khachanov.
Alexander Zverev was on the brink of elimination in the second round, when he let Sebastian Baez play him down. He was lucky to get through in the end, but he also knows with Brandon Nakashima that things can get tight if he lacks concentration.
Carlos Alcaras almost met the same fate as Alexander Zverev, Albert Ramos forced him into five sets. Sebastian Korda, a strong youngster who has already beaten him once this year, now awaits.
Of course, Rafael Nadal wants to make it to the final at his favourite tournament. He has not yet lost a set, but Botic van de Zandschulp is a tough opponent. Will Nadal have problems with the Dutchman?

French Open tips today 27.05: Novak Djokovic – Aljaz Bedene (11:00 a.m.)
6-3, 6-1, 6-0 against Yoshihito Nishioka and 6-2, 6-3, 7-6 against Alex Molcan, Novak Djokovic doesn’t want to play extra sets in Paris. After his convincing tournament victory in Rome, he is aiming for his third title at the French Open.
He allowed one break in each match, but of course the two opponents so far were not quite on his level. Aljaz Bedene probably won’t be either, and that’s how the bookmakers see it. 1,01 to 18,00, clearer – you can’t be ahead.
Bedene has had a little more trouble in his matches so far, beating both Christopher O’Connell and Pablo Cuevas in four sets. 23 break chances allowed, he won’t be allowed that against Djokovic.
He and Djokovic met in 2015, 2016 and 2017, with the world No. 1 triumphing each time. Six years ago they also met in the 3rd round of Paris, Djokovic’s 6-2, 6-3, 6-3 was very commanding.
Our Expert Tip: Under 28.5 Games
French Open tips today 27.05: Cameron Norrie – Karen Khachanov (11:00 am)
Has the Lyon title given him the confidence he needs for the French Open? Cameron Norrie struggled at the preparatory tournament, needing three sets in all but one match, but in the end he came out on top.
The Briton is known for long matches, so it is all the more surprising that he has not had to put in any extra shifts in Paris. He easily knocked out Manuel Guinard and Jason Kubler, but both opponents were well behind him.
Karen Khachanov, against whom he leads 3:2 in the direct comparison and has won both duels on clay, needed four sets for his two matches. He prevailed against Nuno Borges and Hugo Dellien.
While Norrie won the Lyon tournament, Khachanov was eliminated after only the second match against Alex Molcan. That’s probably why the British player is in the lead at 1.45 to 2.80 with the bookies.
Our Expert Tip: 3:1 Norrie
French Open tips today 27.05: Alexander Zverev – Brandon Nakashima (12:00pm)
That was close! Alexander Zverev almost disgraced himself in the 2nd round in Paris. 2-6, 4-6 against Sebastian Baez, the Olympic champion was wobbling precariously. He fended off a match point against him and finally came back to win 2-6, 4-6, 6-1, 6-2, 7-5.
He allowed 13 break chances, unusual for a strong server. Zverev is proving more and more that 2022 is not yet his year. The bookies are nevertheless very optimistic against Brandon Nakashima, sending both into the race at 1.07 to 8.70.
The American lost the only duel with Zverev at the US Open 2021 in four sets. He is currently playing in the main draw in Paris for the first time. He had to go through five tough sets against Kamil Majchraz, but was able to save his energy afterwards.
Tallon Griekspoor had no chance against Nakashima, who won 7-6, 6-4, 6-2. 75% of his first serves were successful, while Zverev fell short of the 70% mark in his match against Baez.
Our Expert Tip: Set win Nakashima
French Open tips today 27.05: Sebastian Korda – Carlos Alcaraz (15:30)
He’s the big favourite to win the title after Novak Djokovic, is the pressure getting too much for him? It wouldn’t have taken much for Carlos Alcaraz to be eliminated in the 2nd round against Albert Ramos, he even had to fend off a match point in the tiebreak.
In the end, everything went well, the youngster was victorious 6-1, 6-7, 5-7, 7-6, 6-4. Alcaraz had a staggering 31 break chances, but the Spaniard could only make use of eight of them. Now it’s on to Sebastian Korda.
A couple of weeks ago in Monte Carlo, the American took him to the cleaners and won in three sets. The almost two-metre tall Korda knocked John Millman and Richard Gasquets out of the competition in Paris – in each case without losing a set.
On a good day he can beat any opponent, but the 21-year-old also throws in enough slip-ups. Although he is at home in the Top 30, the bookmakers send him onto the court with a clear 5.40 to 1.15.
Our Expert Tip: Over 30.5 Games
French Open tips today 27.05: Botic van de Zandschulp – Rafael Nadal (16:30)
Is Rafael Nadal really fit enough to lift the next trophy at the French Open? A few aches and pains plagued him before the start of the tournament, but they have yet to impress him in the French capital.
Jordan Thompson and Corentin Moutet both lost outright, but they were no benchmark for the clay specialist. It should be a little tighter against the number 29, never before has Nadal met Botic van de Zandschulp.
1.04 at 13.00, bettors don’t question the favourite. The Dutchman, however, should not be underestimated. After a victory in four sets against Pavel Kotov, he convinced all along the line in Round 2.
Fabio Fognini had no chance, the Italian gave up at 4-6, 6-7, 2-3. In both matches, van de Zandschulp won more than 70% of his points on his first serve, and he will have to show the same strength against Nadal.
Our Expert Tip: Van de Zandschulp wins the set
