While the two finalists for the 2024 NBA playoffs have already been decided, Germany is still searching for the names of the two opponents who want to take the basketball crown for the 2023/24 season.
Munich are definitely on the shortlist. Especially since, according to my Würzburg Bayern tip, they will celebrate another outstanding start-to-finish victory in Game 3 against the heavily depleted Baskets
The FC Bayern Munich basketball team are on the verge of reaching the final of the German Basketball League, with just one more win separating them.
On Friday, they also won their second home game in the playoff semi-final series against Würzburg Baskets and now lead the best-of-five series 2:0 after a clear 99:75 victory.
As in the first semi-final game, Bayern never trailed. The personnel losses suffered in the quarter-final against Ulm have simply thrown the Baskets off course for good and I don’t see how they can turn this series around
Bayern only need one more win to reach the final. It should be clear to you that from a betting and game analysis perspective, there’s no reason for me to want to leave Munich’s side even for the third game in a row.
In the very first game, Bayern exploited their obvious size advantage. Devin Booker – not to be confused with the Suns’ much stronger Devin Booker – and Serge Ibaka scored the first eleven points for Munich in Game 2.
However, Würzburg was able to keep up for a little longer this time than in the opening game and cut the deficit to 21:22 at the end of the first quarter thanks to Zac Seljaas.
After the break, Darius Perry then kept Würzburg in the game for a long time, but Bayern opened up a double-digit gap for the first time at the end of the third quarter.
Munich then pulled away to 90:65 thanks to a 22:5 run that spanned both quarters and decided the game early on. Isaac Bonga, Carsen Edwards and Vladimir Lucic each scored 14 points for Bayern.
For me, that’s all evidence that Würzburg left too much energy in the quarter-final against Ulm. That’s why the Baskets’ substitutes, who have to replace a number of regulars, degrade more than their opponents when fatigue sets in.
Bayern travel to Würzburg for the first time in this series on Sunday, but I don’t expect them to want to take their foot off the gas pedal.
After all, it’s only a best-of-five series and they want to have as much time as possible to prepare for the dream final against Alba Berlin.
Especially since Alba Berlin surprisingly lost the first game of the semi-final series against Chemnitz and, even with three wins in a row, will have a few days less to rest than the likely finalists from Munich.

In my opinion, Game 3 will be another relatively one-sided affair in which FC Bayern will again win both halves of the match.
