NBA 2022/23, on Tuesday, 07.02.2023
There have already been some David vs Goliath surprises announced under our NBA tips in advance that later also arrived, from which money could be made this season with targeted Bet3000 sports betting.
While the difference in performance between these two teams tonight isn’t huge due to various breakdowns on the Dubs’ side, I’m still pretty confident in my Warriors Thunder tip here.
As last year’s winners, the Warriors are of course the hunted, that was clear from the start! Meanwhile, they had to overcome a difficult phase in the past months, in which Stephen Curry’s injury-related time-out inflicted some avoidable defeats on the Californians.
This also explains why the Dubs have now slipped to 8th place in the Western Conference. Although this will certainly change by the end of the season, the injury bug has once again struck mercilessly.
Stephen Curry is again injured after the 119-113 win over the Mavericks. Although another serious injury has been ruled out, the best three-point specialist of his generation is unlikely to be available against the Thunder.
The Warriors have been struggling with injuries all season, and Curry will likely be joined by Klay Thompson and Draymond Green against OKC. The only confirmed 100 percent absence is Andre Iguodala.
The Dubs will now face a franchise at the Chase Center that will be aiming for a place at the bottom of the Western Conference again this year, but could still cause a stir when they visit San Francisco tonight.
That’s because the Oklahoma City Thunder, while also shorthanded, have assembled a really nice squad that sports bettors often seem to unfairly underestimate.
The reader should be especially alert at this point, because OKC has not only won more games than they’ve lost since mid-January – which in itself is a great accomplishment for a franchise of this type (7 wins, 4 losses).
But on top of that, they even managed to defeat first-class teams like the 76ers, Bulls, Nets, Cavs and even top-ranked Denver during this period. Last night, they also knocked the bottom out of the barrel.
Because while the Warriors kept their fingers crossed that the examination would not reveal a serious injury to their superstar, the Thunder dismantled the Houston Rockets with an incredible score of 153:121.
Houston was visibly overwhelmed and especially Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, one of the many talents that have grown up in OKC during these years, put in a real gala performance with his 42 points – which would have amazed even LeBron James.
So motivated, I can well imagine that Oklahoma City will not lose out “this time”. Because the last meeting between the Thunder and Warriors actually took place less than a week ago.
The venue of the last duel was the Paycom Center, where the Warriors celebrated a narrow 128-120 victory, which was deserved but unlikely to be repeated. Because the guarantors of success are missing.
In the last tête-à-tête between the two teams just under a week ago, Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson were the pillars of the Californians’ success over the Thunder with 38 and 28 points respectively.
The king of threes will most likely be absent, while Thomson will probably only play at 50 percent – but either way: Curry’s absence alone could tip the scales in such a close match-up.
The last time the Warriors met, German bookmakers paid odds of around 1.45 for a win.
This time, the Dubs’ odds to win are around 1.55, while the Thunder’s odds are around 2.50.
Conclusion: This game could easily yield a win for the visitors tonight, which would not surprise me at all.
The Thunder really dismantled the Rockets and celebrated a landslide victory, which can be compared to a 6:0 result in football.
The Warriors are missing not only the head of the team, Curry, but also both arms, Thompson and Green.
My Warriors Thunder tip is therefore: OKC wins!
