NBA Regular Season 2023/24, Tuesday, March 19, 2024
Tonight, two teams that are fighting for a good playoff position and were able to win their last game against ambitious opponents will meet in the NBA. Excitement should therefore be guaranteed in downtown San Francisco!
My Warriors Knicks tip, which is worth registering for Interwetten, recommends betting on a low-scoring game
With a record of 35-31, the Golden State Warriors, last NBA champions in 2022, are in 9th place in the competitive West, three wins behind the first guaranteed playoff spot.
After having their backs to the wall at the start of the year, the Californian Warriors have stabilized and have won 16 of their last 23 matches.
However, they have only won three of their last seven games, suffering a dismantling at the hands of the Celtics (-52) as well as surprising defeats against the underdogs from Chicago (-3) and San Antonio (-13).
In the last game, they beat their division rivals the LA Lakers 128-121.
There are many reasons for the Warriors’ New Year’s upswing.
Big man talent Jonathan Kuminga has impressed as a starter and rim-finisher since the heartbreaking loss to the Nuggets at the start of the year (and his subsequent public criticism of coach Steve Kerr for a lack of playing time).
Since the Denver game, Kuminga is averaging 20 points (mostly close to the basket), adding an important component to the Warriors’ perimeter-heavy offense.
Meanwhile, the return of all-around forward Draymond Green after serving his suspension takes playmaking responsibilities off Stephen Curry’s shoulders (27 points on 40.5% from the three-point line) and gives the best three-point shooter in history better shots.
Meanwhile, Klay Thompson’s playmaking decline empowers the extremely strong lineup of Curry-Podziemski-Wiggins-Kuminga-Green in crunch time.
GSW’s current inconsistency is mainly due to their defense, which is the ninth-worst in the league over the last five games (rating of 115.9).
The visiting Knicks under the aegis of defensive guru Tom Thibodeau, on the other hand, are real experts at defending.
Since the turn of the year, the team from the Big Apple has had the second-best defense in the association (rating of 108.5).
Meanwhile, the return of elite wing defender OG Anunoby, who was traded from Toronto at the turn of the year, points to a turnaround for the recently inconsistent New Yorkers.
With Anunoby on the floor, who missed several weeks with an elbow injury and has been back for three games (all wins), the Knickerbockers have an impressive 15-2 record
In games with the Briton of Nigerian descent on board, East Coast are allowing an impressively low 98.2 points.
However, Anunoby is once again listed as questionable in the latest Injury Report, as his elbow, which is still bruised, should not be overloaded too early at the start of the most important phase of the season.
Offensively, however, first-time All-Star Jalen Brunson is the undisputed driving force for the New Yorkers, with the guard averaging 27.5 points at strong rates of 47.8% from the field and 40.2% from the three-point line.
The agile guard scored 45 and 42 points against the Trail Blazers (+12) and Kings (+7) almost single-handedly.
The first meeting this season went 110-99 to the Warriors on February 29, although the Knicks had to do without their difference-maker Anunoby.
Meanwhile, the Knicks will still be without All-Star forward Julius Randle (shoulder) and starting center Mitchell Robinson (ankle) for tonight’s game.
Without Randle, the New York Islanders only have a record of 11-10 this season
As in the first leg, I expect a low-scoring game today.
The Knicks have by far the best defense so far in March (rating of 98.3), while the Warriors’ lousy defense should be less of a factor against the slow-paced East Coasters.
In recent games, New York has never allowed more than 93 points and GSW no longer has the impressive offensive power it once had.
Since my Warriors Knicks betting tip in the Interwetten app is traded at attractive odds of 1.75, I recommend you: Under 213.5 points in the game!
