NBA 2022/23, on Tuesday, 28.03.2023
It’s not long before NBA fans finally get to see playoff action. Until then, I’m still trying to make one or two promising bets that the regular-season programme booklet of the German betting providers has in store.
My attention fell on this game tonight, for which I promptly wrote a Pistons Bucks tip. Because the guests must continue to win games diligently in order to be able to defend first place from the onrushing C’s until the end.
If you know English, you will know that the term “out of service” can be translated into German as “außer Betrieb”. A sign with just such an inscription seems to be hanging outside the Pistons’ clubhouse.
Because the Bad Boys from the north of the USA have long since signed off. In fact, the game-weak franchise, which has now also been hit by injury woes, is only concerned with somehow making it into the offseason.
Detroit has lost 16 of its last 17 NBA games, and the defeats have been particularly severe in the back end. 107:129 against the Hawks, followed by a 97:118 against the Raptors. Freely according to the motto: Who hasn’t yet, who wants to again?
I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if the Pistons didn’t win another game by the end of the season, let alone celebrate a win over the beastly Bucks.
And indeed, there are some perfectly understandable reasons for the Pistons not to leave the losing streak until the conclusion of the Regular Season.
After all, with a total of just 16 wins so far this season, they could end the current 2022/23 campaign as the NBA’s worst team and thus secure a No. 1 pick in the upcoming draft.
But there are also obvious reasons why the Pistons will be fighting a losing battle tonight. The list of absences has now taken on worrying features.
The list of absentees has taken on worrying proportions, with top performer Bogdanovic, along with Burks, Cunningham, Diallo, McGruder and Stewart, either watching the game from the stands or sitting in front of the TV with a free bet in their laps.
Milwaukee, meanwhile, will show no mercy as the Celtics are breathing down their necks in the battle for the overall Eastern Conference title. They can’t afford to lose to the Pistons after last night anyway.
The Bucks recently lost this week’s top NBA game against the Nuggets in a surprisingly clear manner (106:129). The Celtics, on the other hand, have done their homework and thus stalked even closer to the league leader.
So it’s extremely important for the visitors not to lose any more ground to the C’s, which is why I’m hoping for a highly focused performance tonight. Furthermore, I am not worried that the Bucks, if they take the game seriously, will be victorious in the end.
Milwaukee has already won each of the three season duels against the Pistons. The last two meetings were even won with a difference of more than 20 points.
Expanding the time frame of duels between these two franchises, it may be easier to understand why sportsbooks have called extremely lopsided Pistons Bucks betting odds.
A win for the Green and Whites promises betting odds of just 1.05, which should come as no surprise given the fact that the NBA’s current worst team far and away has lost 16 of its last 17 duels against Milwaukee.
Further, I expect Giannis Antetokounmpo to take out all his pent-up frustration on the “Bad Boys” at Little Caesars Arena.
You could see it in his face-off against Denver how much he was annoyed by the fact that his team was outscored by the Nuggets in the final quarter despite his contribution of 31 points.
Conclusion: The frustration runs deep in Milwaukee at the moment. The defeat in the top match against the Nuggets is interpreted by many NBA experts as a bad omen for the upcoming hunt for the overall victory.
Personally, I was also amazed at the clarity with which Denver prevailed. But to prove their critics wrong, I expect the Bucks to respond all the more fiercely on the floor tonight.
You can almost feel sorry for the home side, because the already game-weak “Bad Boys” will send an absolute hulking team onto the court, which should be dismantled into its components by the opponent pretty quickly.
My Pistons Bucks prediction: Tip 2 with HC -15.5.
