NBA 2021/22 on Sunday, 06.03.2022
To sweeten the Sunday for basketball fans, they will be served an absolute treat as the Milwaukee Bucks host the Phoenix Suns! Spectators will get their money’s worth in this cracker, that’s for sure.
However, my Bucks Suns tip suggests that it should be a relatively clear affair for the defending champions! Because the visitors are missing two absolute key players who can’t be replaced by anything or anyone.
The Suns are still the best team in the NBA, there is no doubt about that! After all, with a record of 51-12, nothing has stood up to them so far this season! However, the next few weeks could be tough.
Both superstars are currently injured though! While CP3 has been out for weeks, Booker was taken out just a few days ago due to corona! In this unfamiliar situation, the Suns just barely scraped past a loss yesterday!
To be exact, only 7.1 seconds separated the so-far unconvincing Knicks from a win over the Suns yesterday! But Cameron Johnson sank the decisive three-pointer together with the final siren for a 115-114 buzzer-beater in favour of the Black and Violets!
Thus, the Arizonans could celebrate a flattering victory at the very last moment, congratulations! But today’s match-up against the reigning defending champions could prove to be too much of a challenge.
Because the Bucks are cut from a completely different cloth than the Knicks and, apart from Brook Lopez, have no significant absences to complain about! Moreover, Giannis Antetokounmpo is in captivating form.
In addition, the Bucks have just beaten the strong Chicago Bulls for the third time this season. Antetokounmpo was not only the architect of the success, but also scored his sixth double-double in a row!
The two-time MVP converted a total of 34 points, caught 16 rebounds and delivered five assists! His teammates Jrue Holiday (26 points) and Khris Middleton (22 points) were also in impressive form!
This was the third NBA win in a row for the Green and Whites, who seem to be getting better and better after the All-Star Break! What’s worth noting in terms of tonight is that their superstars are fit, while the Suns’ will be largely out of action.
In my eyes, the Suns are arguably the better team at their best – even if they did lose the 2021 NBA Finals. But with the addition of players like McGee and Biyombo, they are much better quality this season.
Now, both franchises have already faced each other once this season and that was about a month ago! On that occasion, the Arizonans celebrated a resounding 131-107 victory over the Bucks.
However, Chris Paul and Devin Booker were still in the starting five that night! CP3 in particular was the lynchpin of the Black and Purple’s game with a staggering 19 assists – almost every attack went through number 3!
A win for the Bucks would certainly do the fans good. After all, a triumph over this opponent is always welcome everywhere and, meanwhile, goes hand in hand with odds of around 1.30 on the betting markets.
Conclusion: The Suns are the best NBA team and in my eyes the top favourite to win it all! The Black and Violets have made some splendid trades and improved their team decisively at various positions.
However, Chris Paul and Devin Booker are not easy to replace – and of all things, these two pillars of the Suns’ game will be out against the defending champions! That does not bode well!
Milwaukee, for its part, has just beaten the stubborn Bulls! Giannis Antetokounmpo and his teammates put on a sensational performance! In this condition, a win over a weakened Suns should be possible!
According to my Bucks Suns tip the home side will win with a handicap of -7,5!!!
