The track of the Netherlands GP
The Netherlands Formula 1 GP is held at Circuit Park Zandvoort on the Dutch North Sea coast.
The circuit has been part of the Formula 1 calendar again since 2021.
The premier class of motorsport made its first guest appearance at Zandvoort in 1952. Regular races were held there until 1985, before the Grand Prix was cancelled until 2020.
The fact that Formula 1 is returning to Zandvoort for the third year in a row is due to the popularity of Max Verstappen as well as the characteristics of Circuit Park Zandvoort.
The track has been modernized for the return and is one of the most challenging circuits, not only because of the famous Tarzan Curve.
The circuit has a length of 4.259 kilometers and includes 14 corners. The distance to be covered in 72 laps at the Zandvoort Grand Prix is 306.144 kilometers.
The record winner of the Grand Prix is Jim Clark, who won the race four times in the 1960s.
Since returning in 2021, Max Verstappen has won his home race both times.
Who is favorite for the 2023 Netherlands Grand Prix at Zandvoort?
Who will win the Dutch Grand Prix in 2023? In the 2023 Formula 1 season, the winner is usually known before the race and is Max Verstappen.
The Dutchman leads the world championship standings by a superior margin of 123 points over his teammate Sergio Perez.
Consequently, it comes as no surprise that Max Verstappen is also considered the big favorite at the Dutch GP in Zandvoort.
After eight wins in a row and dominant performances like in Spa – where he was more than 22 seconds ahead at the end – there is really only one question: Will the 25-year-old decide the ninth Grand Prix in a row in his favor and win his home race for the third time in a row?
It will be interesting to see who completes the podium – after all, there has been plenty of variety in this respect in recent races.
At Spa, Sergio Perez finished second, while Charles Leclerc took third place. In Hungary and Silverstone, Lando Norris finished second. Lewis Hamilton made it onto the podium at his home race in Silverstone.
With all the dominance of Red Bull and Max Verstappen, it will consequently be interesting to see who finishes second and third this time around.
