At the same time, they have scored 31 goals and, in addition to having the best defence in England, also have the second-best offence behind Liverpool FC (39 goals). Last matchday, Manchester United were the visitors and took a point from London with a 1-1 draw. The result, however, did not correspond at all to the course of the game. 24:3 shots on goal and 15:2 corners for Chelsea FC speak for themselves. The only shot that finally found its way into the opponent’s goal was Jorginho’s penalty in the 69th minute. Before that, ex-Dortmund man Jadon Sancho had made it 0:1 for the Blues with his first Premier League goal for the Red Devils.

Thomas Tuchel has his team playing in a 3-4-3 system. Unlike the formation, however, the line-up changes from game to game. For the encounter with FC Watford, we expect the above line-up. However, Timo Werner, Kai Havertz, Mason Mount or Christian Pulisic could just as well play the offensive positions from the start. In midfield and defence, on the other hand, Tuchel no longer has much room for manoeuvre after the injuries to N’Golo Kante and Ben Chilwell.
We expect Watford FC to play a 4-1-4-1 system, as they did in their 4-1 win over Manchester United just over a fortnight ago. Chelsea FC’s strong defence will have to focus on Joshua King and Emmanuel Dennis on Wednesday. Both have scored once in each of the last two games.
