FC Venice vs. AC Milan
Since Thursday, Serie A has resumed play and things got pretty chaotic right away. Some matches were cancelled and also the home side in this match were affected by a match cancellation and Venice’s match could not take place. The guests from Milan were able to play their match against Roma and won 3:1 at San Siro.
In general, the Rossoneri’s season has been absolutely solid so far and Thursday’s win allowed them to put further pressure on league leaders Inter Milan, who in turn will probably be gifted a green table win. This leaves AC 4 points behind the league leaders. Find out if we think they can get any closer on Sunday in this Venice – Milan tip.

Venice Form & Balance Check
It is the expected difficult season for the promoted team from the north of Italy. With the exception of Empoli, the promoted teams are all struggling and for Salernitana, for example, things are not looking good at all and they are at the bottom of the table with only 8 points. Venice at least have collected 9 points more and are in 16th place with 17 points. The lead over the relegation places is 4 points and the team is absolutely on target. Offensively, the team is still lacking and the goal ratio looks anything but good with -16. But the most important thing is the points haul, and so far it’s been good in comparison to the other relegation candidates.
The attack is too unthreatening
After 19 games, Venice have already conceded 34 goals. This puts them in mid-table in the league rankings, but compared to the goals they have scored, it is simply too many. Venice have scored the second fewest goals in the league and there is not much variability in attack. 2 players in the squad are responsible for 50% of the goals and if they were to drop out, it would become enormously tight in attack.
Venice facts & analysis
– The last game was lost with 1:3 against Lazio.
– Top scorer is Aramu with 5 goals
– Venice have only scored 8 points at home
Milan form & balance check
Ac Milan are also affected by the Corona virus and have to do without 5 players. Especially the defence is affected by the virus and with Tomori, Romagnoli and Calabria three potential regular players are missing. Nevertheless, they won confidently against Roma and the veterans were again the main players in this victory. Giroud performed amazingly well with a goal and an assist and replaced the current top scorer Zlatan Ibrahimović excellently. This win has further underlined their ambitions and increased the gap between them and the Europa League places.
Will they win the Scudetto this season?
Just like last season, Milan have started incredibly well, picking up an incredible 31 points from their first 11 games. It seemed like it was going to be a two-legged battle with Napoli this season, but then that winning streak snapped and the team has had little wobbles in it ever since. Most recently, however, they have won twice in a row and have regained ground on city rivals Inter Milan. Whether it will be enough for the championship in the end, however, is still written in the stars and it will be very difficult to keep up with the sovereignty of the Nerazurri.
Milan facts & analysis
– Top scorer is Ibrahimović with 7 goals.
– They have only lost one game away from home this season
– Milan have scored the second most goals in the league (43)
Predicted line-up – last update on 7 January 2022
We don’t expect either team to make any big personnel changes, Venice could make one change each offensively and in midfield. Okereke is an option for the striker and Bussio should strengthen the centre. New signing Cuisance from FC Bayern München may make his debut. Milan also have no real reason to change anything after their win over Roma, with Bakayoko at most likely to move into midfield with his physicality. Whether Ibrahimović will play from the start will probably only be decided shortly before kick-off.
