What initially sounds like an average Bundesliga match is, on closer inspection, the top match of the 22nd matchday. With Union and Dortmund, second and fourth place meet. Although they are separated by a full nine points, the situation in the standings makes it look like a chasing duel. Both clubs go into this showdown with two wins and one defeat. Union Berlin are the surprise team of the season. After they were promoted to the Bundesliga, they confidently kept the class last year and this season they are currently on course for the Champions League.
