Manchester United – Liverpool FC
The Premier League continues this weekend and with matchday 32 slowly but surely entering the decisive phase. The championship battle is as open as ever and one of the title contenders has a tough task ahead of them this weekend. Jürgen Klopp’s Liverpool FC have to face Manchester United away from home. The teams last met two weeks ago, with Erik ten Hag’s side scoring an extra-time winner in the FA Cup to give us a taste of what is possible in this clash. Find out who has the edge in the league game in our Manchester United – Liverpool predictions.
For Manchester United, the last matchday pretty much reflects their entire season. They played a very good game against Chelsea FC in London and led 3:2 until deep into injury time. They were still not able to bring this result over time and through a penalty in the 90th + 10th minute and a slapstick goal after a corner in the 90th + 11th minute, the Blues actually managed to turn the game around and Man United faced another incredibly bitter defeat.
Jürgen Klopp’s Reds showed that they have real championship qualities and managed to take over at the top of the table at home against Sheffield United. Liverpool played their usual dominant game against the bottom team and were able to convert their 29 shots on goal into something tangible. The 3-1 labor victory is now their 21st win of the season

Man United Form & Balance Check
Manchester United’s season has been very mixed. With 15 wins, twelve defeats and just three draws, they are in sixth place, but are already eleven points off the Champions League places and must be careful not to slip any further down the table. The form curve is clearly pointing downwards. They have picked up just one win and one draw from their last five games and have lost three times
Home advantage is deceptive?
At Old Trafford this season, Manchester United have sometimes struggled to bring their individual quality to the pitch. Although they have picked up a respectable eight wins and one draw from 14 home games, they have also lost five times and are only eleventh in the home table. Whether the home advantage really exists or appearances are deceptive will now have to be shown once again against the league leaders
Man United facts & analysis
- Sixth in the Premier League table
- Five defeats at home already
- Last game lost
Liverpool Form & Balance Check
Liverpool are in impressive form at the moment. They have only lost twice this season and are deservedly top of the Premier League table with 21 wins. They have won four and drawn one of their last five games and have now gone seven games unbeaten. The form curve continues to point strongly upwards and in his final season Jürgen Klopp wants to achieve something very special and win the 20th league title in the club’s history
Manchester curse?
The Reds have yet to win against either Manchester United or Manchester City this season (three draws, one defeat). Particularly surprising was their first cross-competition home defeat in the FA Cup against Manchester United, who won 4-3 in extra time. Liverpool seem to be struggling to play their usual game against the Red Devils and must now head to Old Trafford to beat the curse
Liverpool facts & analysis
- First in the league table
- Last game won
- Third strongest team away from home
Erik ten Hag will line up in a 4-2-3-1 as he did against Chelsea. He will still be without central defender Lindelöf (thigh injury), for whom Maguire is the best alternative. In attack, the dynamic Rashfor is an option and if ten Hag wants to rotate due to the short intervals between games, McTominay could move into the center for Casemiro. Otherwise, there are unlikely to be any changes in terms of personnel.
Jürgen Klopp will start in his usual 4-3-3. Endo will move back into midfield after recovering from injury and Quansah will start in central defense for Konate. There will be no changes in attack, Salah, Nunez and Diaz play incredible soccer and complement each other perfectly
