It is doubtful whether the Gunners will maintain their current level until the end of the season. The battle for the championship is therefore still completely open, provided that the star ensemble from Manchester promptly regains the consistency of recent years. However, the critical voices are getting louder that the once unpredictable team is somewhat easier to defend due to the transfer of Erling Haaland. It remains to be seen whether tactical genius Pep Guardiola can come up with something to counteract this development.

Pep Guardiola could well make changes after the 1-2 derby defeat. Possible starting eleven candidates are wildcard goal scorer Jack Grealish, Ilkay Gündogan and/or Aymeric Laporte. Phil Foden, Bernardo Silva and/or one of the two centre-backs (Nathan Aké & Manuel Akanji) could make way. The other two centre-backs John Stones and Ruben Dias are expected back promptly, but not yet in the upcoming game.
