Manchester City – Everton FC
The Premier League has already reached matchday 24. A total of seven matches will be played this Saturday, including Manchester City against Everton FC. The lunchtime match is a meeting of two teams whose ambitions and hopes could not be more different at the moment. Find out in our Man City vs Everton predictions whether the Toffees will be able to take home something worthwhile at the Etihad Stadium or whether the overpowering City will win.
Man City are still chasing league leaders Liverpool and were able to close the gap to two points with their latest 3-1 win over Brentford on Monday. The title race is in full swing and a slip-up could have serious consequences.
Everton, on the other hand, are in uncertainty due to the pending appeal regarding the deduction of ten points for financial irregularities. Should the ruling be enforced, they will be deep in the relegation battle and need all the more points. They put in a decent performance last weekend, drawing 2-2 with Tottenham Hotspur

Man City Form & Balance Check
The Citizens are currently on the road to success and have won all five of their games this year. Including the matches at the FIFA Club World Cup, the Sky Blues’ winning streak stands at nine games. Their last defeat came at the beginning of December.
Pep Guardiola’s side are second in the Premier League with 49 points thanks to their latest win at FC Brentford. Leaders Liverpool are only two points ahead and have one more game in hand. City therefore still have it in their own hands to overtake the Reds. The lead to a non-Champions League place is five points
Foden continues to flourish
The Citizens initially fell behind against Brentford before Phil Foden turned on the heat and almost single-handedly decided the game. The 23-year-old homegrown striker scored three times to give the Sky Blues a 3-1 victory. The England international is perhaps in the best form of his career at the moment. He has scored eight goals in the last six Premier League games alone. In total, the attacking midfielder has scored eight goals and set up seven goals so far
Man City facts & analysis
- Place two in the table
- Only two points behind leaders Liverpool
- Unbeaten in twelve games
Everton Form & Balance Check
Everton have picked up two points from their last two games. Prior to that, manager Sean Dyche’s team were knocked out of the FA Cup against league rivals Luton Town. Overall, with just one win this year, there is still room for improvement. After deducting the ten-point penalty, the team is in 18th place in the league on 19 points and thus in a relegation spot.
The difference between them and Luton Town and the drop zone is one point. Whether the Toffees can take anything home against Man City is questionable, however. The first leg at home to Goodison Park has already been lost 3-1 and Everton have yet to win against the top five in the league this season
Dangerous away from home
The Toffees have shown on several occasions this season that they can be a dangerous opponent away from home. The team are sixth in the away table with five wins and two draws, taking five more points away from home than at home.
In the current phase, however, the away strength of the first half of the season has been lost somewhat, as the last away win was before Christmas. Coach Dychen’s team now want to get back on the road to success as quickly as possible, preferably with an underdog win at Man City
Everton facts & analysis
- 18th place in the table
- Last two draws
- Better away than at home
We don’t expect many changes to Man City’s first eleven compared to the last game against Brentford. Should Coach Guardiola wish to rotate in the back line, Manuel Akanji is available again. Jack Grealish and Mateo Kovačić are further options in midfield. The basic formation is a 4-1-4-1 system.
Everton play in a classic 4-4-2 formation. We don’t expect much rotation from them either, as the team put in a committed performance against Spurs. The Toffees still have a small injury problem, with players like Dele Alli, Arnaut Danjuma and Abdoulaye Doucoure still missing through injury
