Liverpool FC vs. Norwich City
This weekend, the 26th matchday in the English Premier League awaits us and the runners-up from Liverpool welcome Norwich City, who went down against Man City on the last matchday and lost with 0:4. Now the second big one in a row awaits them and they have to make their way to Anfield. The Reds are currently one of the most in-form teams in Europe and only on Wednesday beat Inter Milan 2-0 in the Champions League at the Guiseppe Meazza Stadium.
They are also getting closer to the Citizens in the league and were able to solve their compulsory task against Burnley last weekend. With the Canaries, they now face an opponent who is in acute danger of relegation and has had really big problems this season, especially with the top teams. Whether we think there will be another defeat for the promoted team, you can find out in this Liverpool – Norwich tip.

Liverpool Form & Balance Check
In the Premier League, Liverpool and Man City march ahead and there is hardly a team that can keep up with the two top teams. They also underlined their ambitions in the Champions League during the week when they won 2-0 in a very intense game against the Italian champions. They are still in all competitions so far, including a League Cup final against Chelsea on 27.02. But for now, all the focus will be on the league, as the Citizens are 9 points clear with one game more and the Reds can’t really afford to make any more mistakes until the end of the season.
Can Liverpool win a title this year?
After failing to win a single title last season, the Reds are naturally looking to change that this season. However, as mentioned, the prospects of this are very good, as they have already reached the final of the League Cup and can also go far in the Champions League and the FA Cup. The most difficult task this year will probably be to win the league. There City are again incredibly strong and it seems almost hopeless.
Liverpool facts & analysis
– They have scored the most goals along with City (61).
– Liverpool are still unbeaten at home this season (cross-competition).
– 3 of their last 4 wins in the Premier League have been to nil
Norwich form & balance check
It was clear from the start that it would be difficult this season, but their disastrous start with 6 defeats from the first 6 games didn’t exactly increase their chances of staying in the league. In the meantime things are going a bit better and before last weekend’s defeat against the league leaders from Manchester they managed to get 7 points from 3 games. Against Liverpool they will probably go home with 0 points, but after that the important games are coming up.
The weeks of truth for Norwich
There are 14 games left to play and the starting position is conceivably unfavourable, but not hopeless for Norwich. They are 4 points behind the bottom of the table, but this is not really meaningful, as some teams still have to play one or two catch-up games. After Saturday’s game, however, Southampton, Brentford and Leeds are three direct competitors in the relegation battle, all of whom are beatable. But if they don’t pick up enough points in those games, it will be hard for the Canaries to stay in the relegation places.
Norwich facts & analysis
– Norwich have the weakest offence in the league (14 own goals).
– They have failed to score in 7 of their last 11 games
– At the moment they are 18th in the table with 17 points
Predicted line-up – last update on 17 Feb 2022
Both teams can rely on almost all their regular players, so the coaches will not make many changes. For Liverpool, newcomer Diaz could make his debut and Henderson could also start from the beginning again.
The Canaries will also field the best possible squad, with Greece’s Tzolis possibly getting another chance in attack. So far, things haven’t really gone well for the newcomer. Apart from that we don’t expect any changes.
Liverpool – Norwich direct comparison & Statistics
