RB Leipzig vs. Bayer Leverkusen
At the end of the 13th matchday of the Bundesliga, we can expect an incredibly interesting duel at the highest level. Leipzig, who showed their quality in the Champions League during the week, welcome Leverkusen, who were also successful internationally in the Europa League. In the league, however, things have not really been going well for either side so far and Leipzig’s performance at Hoffenheim on the last matchday was simply subterranean. They had a disastrous game against their fearful opponents and were well served with the 0:2.
Leverkusen, too, again failed to convince with their play and were lucky with VAR, but in the end won 1:0 against Bochum by the skin of their teeth. But the Werkself’s morale is still good, as they proved last week at home against Celtic Glasgow, when they managed to win late on. Find out who we think will come out on top on Sunday in this Leipzig – Leverkusen tip

Leipzig Form & Balance Check
You can’t really figure out Leipzig this season. There are usually only a few days between world-class performances and listless performances. Only the recent two must-win games are the perfect example of Leipzig’s performance fluctuations. Last Saturday they put in a truly subterranean performance in the Bundesliga, only to knock Bruges out of the Champions League 5-0 just 4 days later. The East German club must get a grip on these extreme performance fluctuations as quickly as possible so that they can still achieve their goals this season.
Top at home, flop away
Most of all, Leipzig’s away weakness this season is surprising. The win over Brugge last Wednesday was their first ever away win in league and Champions League this season. In the Bundesliga they have lost 3 and drawn 3 from 6 games away from home. At home, on the other hand, they have won everything except the game against Bayern and have won 3 of the 5 home games to nil. In addition, the team scores an average of more than 3 goals per game in their own stadium.
Leipzig facts & analysis
– Leipzig have won 5 out of 6 games at home so far.
– Top scorer is Christopher Nkunku with 5 goals in the league.
– Currently missing some regular players due to injury
Leverkusen form & balance check
After a really promising start to the Bundesliga season and 5 wins from the first 7 games, the Werkself could only win one of their last 5 games. The lucky 1:0 victory over VfL Bochum on the last matchday ended a series of 4 winless games in the Bundesliga. The absence of top scorer Patrick Schick, who was injured for a long time and will probably not return for 1-2 weeks, is clearly noticeable. Florian Wirtz has also dropped off a bit after starting the season incredibly well. But given his young age, that is of course understandable.
Does Leverkusen lack leaders?
Despite 2 competitive match wins in a row, there is cause for criticism at Bayer Leverkusen. Against two individually clearly inferior teams, they were able to win and decide the games in their favour solely on the basis of individual quality. Leading players such as Aranguiz, Schick, Alario and Bellarabi are all currently injured and are not candidates for the starting eleven on Sunday. Accordingly, the young players will have to serve again, and the fluctuating performances of these players have been clearly seen in the last games.
Leverkusen facts & analysis
– They have only won one of their last 5 Bundesliga games.
– At the moment they occupy the 4th place in the table
– Top scorer is Patrick Schick with 8 goals
Predicted line-up – last update on 26 November 2021
Both teams are plagued by some injury worries and many regular players are not available. Leipzig are still without Gulacsi in goal and defensively Orban and Simakan are question marks. Halstenberg and Poulsen are still out. Leverkusen may have to do without top striker Schick, but Demirbay returns after suspension in the Europa League and Tapsoba is also an option for central defence.
Leipzig – Leverkusen direct comparison & statistics
