The European football calendar is packed at the moment. After an exciting week in the international competitions, it continues right on the weekend with the 24th matchday of the Bundesliga. In the Saxon capital, RB Leipzig will have their dress rehearsal for the second leg against Manchester City in the Champions League on Saturday. Before coach Marco Rose took over on matchday six, RB Leipzig had a rather bumpy start to the season. After only one win in the first five games, the team from Saxony was only in mid-table. But Rose, who previously worked for Borussia Dortmund and Borussia Mönchengladbach, managed to get his team back on track.

For Marco Rose, there are currently many reunions with old companions. Rose coached upcoming opponents Borussia Mönchengladbach from 2019 to 2021. The Leipzig native led the Foals to the Champions League. The farewell from Borussia Park, however, was then with some side noises.
The 46-year-old also met a former employer the previous week. In the previous season, Rose spent 323 days as coach at Borussia Dortmund. In the end, however, 69 points and a second place were too few for the BVB officials. At his current station in Leipzig, Rose currently has his best points average in his time in the Bundesliga. Only at Red Bull Salzburg did he score more points per game.

Gladbach form & balance check
The early part of the season under new coach Daniel Farke was promising for the Foals. With only one defeat in the first seven games, Gladbach quickly had their sights set on the European places. But as the first half of the season progressed, a certain inertia spread through the team, which led to the Foals winning only two of their last eight games.
In the last six games, Gladbach also only managed two victories, including a spectacular 3:2 win against FC Bayern Munich at home. Nevertheless, in the last two away games, VfL lost significantly with 1:4 against Hertha BSC and even 0:4 against 1. FSV Mainz 05. Last week, Gladbach played 0:0 against SC Freiburg and is still in tenth place in the table.
Away weakness of the Foals
In the current season, the lack of consistency is Borussia Mönchengladbach’s main problem. So far, the Foals have not managed to win two games in a row in the Bundesliga. The discrepancy between home and away games is particularly striking. While Gladbach have already celebrated seven victories at home, VfL have only won one away match this season.
Gladbach’s only away win this season came at the end of January. At that time, Borussia won 4:1 at Hoffenheim, who are in free fall. We expect Leipzig to be very similar to what they were against BVB. In the 4-4-2, Forsberg and Silva will operate together in attack. Nkunku is out again for a few weeks and Schlager is also injured and will not be available for some time. In addition, Gulácsi, Olmo and Diallo are still missing.
We also expect Gladbach to be almost identical to the previous week. The only change coach Farke has to make is at left-back, as Bensebaini is missing after his yellow card. Regular goalkeeper Jonas Omlin will continue to be out of action next Saturday due to injury. Substitute Jan Olschowsky is also unavailable due to gastrointestinal problems. As of today, Tobias Sippel will therefore have to stand between the posts again.
