RB Leipzig – Eintracht Frankfurt
Our Leipzig – Frankfurt tip is: Leipzig win – 6.15 odds
- The last duel was won by RB 3:0 in the DFB Cup two weeks ago
- RB lost only one of the nine home duels against Eintracht
- Marco Rose won eight of his eleven competitive games against Frankfurt
On Sunday evening, a real cracker of a Bundesliga duel awaits us in the Red Bull Arena. Fourth-placed Leipzig host second-placed Frankfurt. While Leipzig have amassed 24 points, Eintracht have already notched up 27 points this season.
Leipzig sealed their final Champions League exit during the week. After six games without a point, they are the only team, along with Bratislava and Young Boys, to have not yet picked up any points. In the league, however, after four games without a win, three of which they lost, they recorded a 2-0 win against Holstein Kiel on the last matchday. The last encounter against Eintracht was not that long ago either: on December 4, there was a 3-0 win for RB in the DFB Cup, which should give them an additional boost to win again against Eintracht.
This is the first time this season that Eintracht have been without a win for three games, two of which they have lost. After seven wins in a row, they were knocked out of the cup by RB, followed by a 2-2 draw against Augsburg in the league and a 3-2 defeat against Lyon in the Europa League during the week. Find out whether Eintracht will manage to get their revenge or whether RB will once again play to their home strength against Frankfurt in our Leipzig – Frankfurt betting tip.

Leipzig Form & record check
RB Leipzig have lost only one of their previous nine competitive home games to Eintracht Frankfurt (five wins, three draws) – 1-0 in the last Bundesliga clash in January 2024. Just eleven days before the current Bundesliga game, Leipzig won 3-0 at home to SGE in the round of 16 of the DFB Cup.
Most recently, RB conceded its highest home defeat in Bundesliga history in the 5-1 loss to VfL Wolfsburg. This meant that Leipzig went two consecutive home matches without a win for the first time since January (one draw, one defeat), although this has never happened three times in a row under Marco Rose. The last time there was a negative streak was in March/April 2021 under Julian Nagelsmann.
Defensively, however, RB Leipzig have been strong in this Bundesliga season: in the 2-0 win in Kiel, the team recorded their eighth clean sheet – the highest in the league and a new club record after 13 Bundesliga games. Leipzig are also among the few teams this season not to have conceded a goal after a counterattack (like Bayer Leverkusen and Union Berlin).
Frankfurt as Rose’s 2nd favorite opponent
Young players shape Leipzig’s squad: U22 players get the most playing time of any Bundesliga club (3,969 minutes). One of the most talented is Antonio Nusa, who set up all three goals in the DFB Cup game against Frankfurt. At 19 years and 231 days, he became the youngest player to record three assists for RB in a competitive game.
Coach Marco Rose recently celebrated his 100th Bundesliga victory in the 178th game (33 draws, 45 defeats). Only Udo Lattek needed fewer games to reach this milestone in Bundesliga history (155). Rose won eight of his 11 competitive matches as a coach against Eintracht Frankfurt (two draws, one defeat) – only against SC Freiburg did he manage more wins (nine).
Leipzig facts & analysis
- Last 2021 three consecutive home games without a win
- Eight clean sheets already
- Rose with eight wins from eleven games against Frankfurt
Frankfurt Form & Record Check
Eintracht Frankfurt is playing its second-best Bundesliga season with 27 points after 13 games. Only in the 1993/94 season were there more points (30), when Klaus Toppmöller, the father of current coach Dino Toppmöller, was in charge.
SGE is showing a significant improvement in form away from home: with four wins in the current Bundesliga season, Frankfurt has already recorded as many away wins as in the entire previous season. After two consecutive away wins, Eintracht could win three Bundesliga away games in a row for the first time since May/June 2020.
Frankfurt are relying more on pace and counterattacks: with 22 shots on goal after counterattacks, they lead the league in that statistic and have scored the most goals from counterattacks (seven). Dino Toppmöller’s team also has the third-youngest starting XI in the Bundesliga, with an average age of 25 years and 254 days. U22 players have played the second-most minutes in the league (2,883 minutes).
Hugo Ekitiké: Bundesliga top scorer in 2024
Hugo Ekitiké is currently in top form: in his last five Bundesliga appearances, he has been directly involved in at least one goal – a personal record that he set back in April/May this year. In the 2024 calendar year, he is the only Bundesliga player to have scored in at least five games in a row on two occasions.
Frankfurt Facts & Analysis
- Second-best Bundesliga season
- First time since 2020: three consecutive away wins possible
- For the second time this year, Ekitike has scored in five of the last five games
We expect Marco Rose’s RB Leipzig to revert to a 4-4-2 system again. Both of RB’s strikers scored in the last DFB Cup game against Eintracht, and another victory will almost certainly see at least one of the two score again.
Frankfurt will also be back in the 4-4-2 system under the direction of Dino Toppmöller. Eintracht can currently rely on the accuracy of Omar Marmoush in particular, and they will need it if they want to be successful in Leipzig.
Leipzig v Frankfurt head to head & stats
